I have fitted the 57S-9500 onto my 2.0FSi Passat, and I need to say it’s really amazing what the box does to your car. You can really feel the difference in low rpm's but also when going full throttle. When driving without the lid you definitely have the feeling the car is a race car. Really nice solution that you can drive with the top off and on the air box base. And also TUV approved! Thanks K&N this was really worth more than I paid for......
Quality of the airbox is nice and fits. But that's it. The rubber intake adaptor is a poor design and should be ABS like the way the stock one mounts to and made to fit properly. I tried 2 days to get this thing installed at gave up. 1st time I followed the instructions and nope not able to get the rubber part all the way into the airbox. 2nd try I put the rubber into the airbox 1st and then tried to put the intake tube on and nope not fir properly. Its just way to tight even used some lube to help it and still not a nice fit. Gave up and put it all in box and put to side and don't know I will be using it. Never had any problems installing the MST intake a couple years ago on same model car but wanted to try K&N and wish I hadn't now. also the pod filter had some sharp wires coming out of the black rubber in one spot.
