K&N Cold Air Intake Kit: High Performance, Guaranteed to Increase Horsepower: 2006-2009 FORD (Fusion) 69-3515TS

The air intake arrived quickly and on time from K&N. It was packaged well and included clear instructions and a hard copy of the dyno sheet. I like that K&N actually supplies the data to support their guaranteed horsepower claim. The installation took about 2 hours for me and my 15 year old son. It would go quicker for an experienced guy working alone, but it was a teaching activity for us. The intake fit fine except for one slot that needed to be enlarged to fit the bolt that goes through it. The air intake seems to provide more power, but it's hard to tell a 12 hp gain on a 185 hp engine from the seat of your pants. At full throttle, high RPM, it does feel like it is pulling harder than before the kit was installed. We like the sound the engine makes now too. We do notice that the engine cranks a few seconds longer to start, especially in cold weather. Maybe this is a calibration issue related to more airflow and a leaner mixture, but we definitely notice longer cranking time since installing the intake. K&N might want to explain this phenomenon up front. Overall, we are happy with the intake kit as a good horsepower per dollar, low risk, low effort modification.

I have a 2008 Mercury Milan Premiere, 3.0L V6.  I recently installed the 69 Series Typhoon Cold Air Intake coupled with Dual Magnaflow mufflers with 3.5 tips.  The power, sound and mpg were all dramatically improved immediately!  I installed the mufflers a week or so prior to adding the Typhoon and there was a performance increase and of course they added a nice rumble to the sound of the vehicle.  BUT after installing the Typhoon, my engine downright growls! I didn't have any dyno tests done, but I can tell you the HP got a nice jump and the acceleration is palpable.  I recommend getting the K & N cold air intake for any vehicle that can accept one!  You won't regret it!  Great product!  Thanks K & N!
