K&N Performance Cold Air Intake System: Easy Installation, Engineered to Maximize Airflow, Boost Horsepower & Torque, 57-3021-1

I recently purchased a generation 2 cold air intake for my 03 GMC. Instalation was a breeze. Me and my girlfriend put it together in about 45 minutes with no arguments. Wasn't expecting to see as many gains in throttle response. I was only expecting an increase in fuel mileage. It woke my 5.3L up. It feels like a completely different truck. I'm very satisfied, for having 83,000+ miles, it runs much cooler. It really compliments my cat back exhaust system. Would recommend to everyone. Now I like to think I have a hotrod.

I own a 2002 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3L V8. Despite the hefty engine size, the truck has been sluggish due to it's large weight and the high altitude in Colorado (engines here put out approximately 14% less horsepower than at sea level). I just purchased and installed the K&N FIPK Generation II Intake System and I am thrilled with the results. The horsepower increase with the Filtercharger is dramatic, and the truck pulls off the line like a sports car. I can spin the tires if I'm not careful. Incredible! I haven't estimated if I have an increase in gas mileage, but with this much more horsepower, WHO CARES! Installation couldn't have been easier... even someone with very little mechanical aptitude can do it. I have already recommended the product to just about everyone I know. I installed a Cold air intake on my 2001 GMC Seirra 4.8L Vortec and saw significant gains not only in horsepower but my fuel economy! I then installed a aftermarket racing chip and re-mapped my chip which made everthing across the board go up! I am now getting 28 miles to the gallon on the highway! For a full size truck that is amazing! I have always and will always continue to use K&N filters in all of my trucks! We haul a lot of boats here in the Boatyard (Joels Outboard Marine, Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and this company has always saved us money with a small investment into their products!

This is the 3rd vehicle in which I have installed this K & N air intake accompanied with a throttle body spacer. Installation time for both is about 1 hour and love the result. Increased HP and a 4 MPG increase which eventually pays for itself at the pump. Don't know why car manufacturers don't make this standard off the assembly line.

I have had your fuel injection kit installed on my 2001 Silverado since the day I bought it. Even though I have added some other horsepower improvements, your filter continues to do as you advertised. It has been one of the best $250.00 investments I have ever made for my truck. I have a 166600 miles & 320 RWH. Once I rebuild the 5.3 the first part going back on is your filter!!!

Thanks so much      I just installed your cold are intake and I am very impressed with the change.  I own a 2001 Silverado with the 5.3 V8.  I did get 18-19 mpg, but now I'm managing 21-22mpg.  That's incredible for a V8 4X4.  Take off is outstanding compared to previously.  Also the sound is a big improvement.  On hard take offs, (very common in my daily driving) you can actually hear it pull so much more air.  And at cruising, (90-95mph) it has a slight whistle to it.  I love it.  It is the best thing I have done for any of my vehicles.  I advise it to anyone with an engine of any type.  Thanks so much for your product.  I really do appreciate it.

Fantastic! I just installed your FIPK II kit in my 2003 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 engine. As soon as I took her out for a test run I could feel dramatic increases in throttle response, acceleration and overall HP. I am recommending this product to all my friends!

I got my '03 Chevy Silverado 4.8 a month ago. Within 2 weeks I put a FIPK II on it and it was like a totally different truck. Pulling out after installation, my first great impression was the sound of my truck. It gave it a nice and powerful sound and excellent power boost! I haven't quite figured out the mpg gain but there is one! I haven't had my first oil change but you better believe I'll be putting a K&N on!! -Thanks for a great product

I just installed a K&N FIPK 2 into my 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3L V8 and from the moment I installed it made a huge difference wise.  First of all, the performance was outstanding.  You could feel the kick as soon as I went out for the first time.  Man it moved great.  Next was the appearance.  It looked so good and freed up so much space in the engine compartment that I couldn't believe it.  I can now get to the bottom of the engine near the radiator without taking anything out.  So far I am very pleased with this product and I am anxious to see what kind of fuel mileage that I get with this on.  Also the sound of this thing is not bad at all.  It actually is very quiet and will really only make noise when I get on it hard.  Very pleased with all your products and please keep up the good job.  This is the only product that I have seen that actually works and does not cost you an arm and a leg.  Thank you again and keep up the good work.

I love it. Nice power increase. Haven't done an MPG check yet to see how much of an increase in fuel economy there is. Not to bad for install. The only two issues I had were, 1. I had to grind a bit on the fan shroud and 2. the house that connects the main tube to the air inlet on the motor need to be a bit longer. What comes in the box is only 1 1/2" and I think it should be over 2". Not a lot of room between the clamps and where the two parts meet up.
