After the ease of installation on my 2012 Jeep and the immediate performance gained I ordered another one (63-1563 air intake) for my 2003 Avalanche. I love this product and though I put a new K&N air filter on everything I buy, I should have converted to the complete system sooner!
I received the cold air kit for my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit well within a reasonable amount of time. Although it appeared to be easily installed by a novice I elected to have it installed by my dealer just to insure that it was installed properly. It has the appearance of a factory installed product and I am very delighted with my K&N cold air intake. I can not tell if it has made any difference in my horsepower or gas mileage, but sometimes it's the sound and appearance that counts.
Very easy to install! Between the clear instructions and the company's videos, installation was a snap. The immediate boost to torque, the "you can feel it in the seat of your pants," when you press the gas, is impressive. Plus, the added 'whoosh' sound from the intake and increased engine noise on the HEMI is a bonus. You won't be disappointed.
A must have!!! I love all the products from K&N but this is my first one that I was blown away from. I have a 2014 Dodge Durango R/T with the 5.7 L V-8. I love the extra boost, acceleration noise, and fuel savings. The fuel savings is minimal but is available to see a difference. The extra boost in acceleration is GREAT and you can really feel and hear it. The shifts sound better and feel better.
Bought this for my wife's 2011 Durango with the 5.7 Hemi. She loves it, gave her better fuel mileage, better pedal response and of course better sound when she gets on it!! That Hemi can breathe now. Worth ever dime to see my wife's face when we passed a car. This was a surprise gift for her. Install was a breeze. I have installed a few of them on all of my cars. Nice product.
Put this on wife's 2014 Durango R/T with the 5.7 Hemi. It has a noticeable power increase on regular around town acceleration. You don't have to use the accelerator as much to get to your normal driving speeds. I think that is where you will receive a MPG gain, if any. The good whoosh sound noise doesn't really come in 'til you dig deeper on the accelerator and then it sounds terrific. Makes my kid laugh in the back seat every time. I wouldn't recommend buying it if you are just looking for MPG gain because it is probably not significant enough to pay for itself. I would recommend buying it for the improved throttle feel and the great sound it makes when you drop the hammer.
Installed this on a 2013 Durango Hemi. No noticeable change in fuel economy on the highway but a big change in the city. (prior city: 15.0 litres/100km or 15.7MPG...after install 14.0L/100km or 16.8MPG. Data based on ~ 4 years. Better throttle response and sounds great!!
63-1563 not only gives my vehicle the extra push i was looking for when modifying my vehicle, it gives it that aggressive roar like sound and a better look under the hood. Also had an intake on my previous vehicle and will definitely purchase a next one if and when i get a next vehicle. Addicted to K&N intakes.
I received the Performance Intake Kit for Christmas (This is the only thing I asked for from my wife) and promptly installed it with no problems. Its very easy to install, I think it only took me 30 minutes from opening the box to clean up. I installed it on my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7L Hemi. The sound is almost the same as stock under 3000 RPM, so cruising speed and normal acceleration is not noticeable. Once over 3500 RPM however, the roar is very satisfying. It sounds like a muscle car and not a SUV. I've done some freeway driving since installing it and have noticed a slight increase in mpg but it's offset by the fun I'm having listening to the engine while accelerating (I even turn off the radio when getting onto the freeway on-ramp). Best Christmas present ever!
I have never bought into too many aftermarket products, but I have to say the K&N intake I just put on my 2012 Durango Citadel Hemi is AWESOME! I was skeptical about buying it due to the noise concern as I am a professional that frequently has clients riding along with me. The intake doesn't make any louder sound than the factory intake until you get on the throttle. Once you do, it is noticeable and in my opinion sounds great! I immediately felt the HP increase on 3/4 throttle at about 4400 RPM's, it was that noticeable! I don't have much to say about the fuel economy but maybe a mile or two per gallon, unfortunately what you gain in fuel economy is easily wasted in the fun you will have listening to the intake and showing off the 17HP and Torque gain! Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Installation was pretty easy and instructions were very detailed. I'm just a white collar weekend warrior and I had it installed in about 35 minutes taking my time to do it right. Great Job K&N
