I just installed your cold air intake on my 2000 S10 2.2L automatic, along with a Magnaflow catback exhaust. As you probably know, if you ran the 1/4 mile with this truck you'd have to clock it with a calender! Red light response was an instant improvement. I haven't taken it out on the expressway yet, but from what I've heard performance and mpg should be improved. Not to mention the extra room under the hood. Why couldn't GM install something like this instead of that Rube Goldberg inspired monstrosity from the factory? Installation was easy but the instruction sheet could be clearer. All in all, great product! Thanks.
I just installed this kit on my 02 S10 2.2L. I now have much better throttle response and better acceleration in the mid to upper RPM's. It gave the truck a nice, throaty sound when you get into the pedal. It's a tight fit for this truck but it went together perfect!
I purchased my 2000 Chevy S10 used when I was in high school in 2003. Since at the time I had no major commitments with my extra income from my part time job I did what most guys my age were doing. Tricking out my truck! I had my truck for a couple of months before I purchased the K&N FIPK and was not satisfied with its performance. The only reason I got the four cylinder was because I knew it would be good on fuel back and forth to work and school. I started. looking into performance parts for it because I wanted more from my truck. That's when I came across the K&N FIPK. I managed to save a couple of pay checks and headed strait to the local auto store. I had pre ordered it a few days before so all I had to do was pick it up. I left the store and went to my girlfriend at the time cousin's house and started the install. It was pretty simple once we got the factory mess out of there. We had it in and started the truck and I was very impressed with the sound alone! I got in and took a short drive and never looked back. Now 11 years later my girlfriend at the time now my wife, three boys, and a mini van later and I'm installing a K&N air filter in my van! (No FIPK available for my van yet) I still have the truck and it's still running strong and have made some other modifications to the performance but now it mostly sits. I get in every now and again and still smile every time I step on the pedal! Thank you for a great, long lasting product!
5 Star Review
Purchased this for my 2000 S10 2.2L. Basically does nothing but make the truck louder with no noticeable gains in horsepower like advertised. Only changes the appearance of the engine compartment .
