This is the third vehicle on which I have installed one of these intakes and I am again enormously pleased. Installation is pretty easy, with only one minor problem with the length of the provided crankcase breather hose (slightly short, very stiff). The solution was easily improvised, improved performance was immediate, and continued to improve after being driven for a few weeks. I would highly recommend this to anyone with a new Jeep. Original engine performance was OK, but anemic compared to the old straight 6. With the K&N intake, acceleration is improved significantly, and I can now use 5th and 6th gear much more often, even on slight grades, which was not possible before. Great product.
The installation was quick and I can feel the additional power during acceleration. I was worried at first but now that it is installed, I am very happy. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants the performance. Keep up the quality work on the shipping. It came really quick. I would buy from you again.
Everything that I expected from K&N. Took approximately 2 hours to install, with the removal of the old breather. Great sound, improved throttle response, and easy install. Haven't noticed mileage increase up to this point, but only had it on for about one week. This is the second intake kit I have installed by K&N and will continue to install your products. I will be installing your replacement air filter on my motorcycle, which I also purchased at the same time as this system. Thanks!
Great Product, takes approximately 40 minutes to install including taking your old system off. No special tools needed. Good looking system and noticeable power gains. Really wakes up the bottom end and also smooths out the top end. Good job to the guys at K&N this product works. Inexpensive way to gain a few ponies & torque.
K&N air filters have been a part of my car and motorcycle life for as long as I can remember. 2013 Jeep Rubicon received K&N cold air induction kit. Sounds throaty and impressive. Better gas mileage? No se'. OEM filter removed before 500 miles. A little over a hour to install. Two thumbs up!
I spent about 90 minutes installing the new performance intake kit on my 2014 Unlimited Dragon. The instructions were straight forward and everything went together perfectly. The toughest part for me was removing the intake air temperature sensor from the factory inlet tube. I didn't want to damage or destroy the sensor, so I took my time. It just took a little brute force to pull the sensor and o-ring out of the tube. The rubber hose connection for the crankcase vent tube at the engine was a very tight fit, but it doesn't require a clamp. I didn't notice any change in the tone or volume of the engine intake noise at idle or at cruising speed. If anything, the air intake noise seemed to be a little quieter. As soon as I made a couple 3/4 throttle accelerations I could immediately feel and hear the change in the engine. At full throttle the change was fantastic. I had flashbacks to the sounds of the back 2 barrels of a quadrajet carb kicking in. The engine revved up so quickly that the RPM limiter kicked in before I could let off the pedal. With the addition of my cat-back dual exhaust and the K&N Performance Intake kit, my ride now sounds and feels like a new machine.
Fairly quick and easy to install. Watch the sensor. It takes some work, but it will come out of the old air intake and install in the new one. It is a little noisy under hard acceleration, but not bad. I feel a little more power with this as opposed to the original intake and filter.
Great quality and great fit. Seems to perform well. Only complaint is that I had to keep referring to schematic to determine which hardware to use. Should refer to the parts for each step of installation.
For the most part this is good cold air intake. The worst part of this kit (63-1566) is the air filter cover. It's mounting method and final design coud have used some help. lining up the bolt screws was a pain, For $300 could have been better.
Very happy with the midrange HP improvement and overall mph has increased while driving at posted speeds. Was a little difficult to line up the cover over the filter, but got it after a few tries.
