Love the extra performance and sound.. couldn't of made a better decision with the purchase of a cold air intake for my truck.. A
I ordered my k&n intake about 2 weeks ago it did not come with the air filter are they not supposed to be included I wasn't aware I had to buy separate before I ordered one I wanted to make sure it was not supposed to be included
Absolutely, 120% satisfied!! Shipped fast, received it fast! I am mechanically inclined, the cold air intake went together as it should have. I did read the directions here and there (I can see where non mechanically inclined people might have trouble with the directions) but all in all - just a great product. I've had it installed for about a month now on my '98 Chevy K1500 and I'm wondering why I didn't get the intake a long time ago! I instantly saw quicker throttle response, better gas mileage and a better sound to the 5.7L Vortec winding up. Easy to do - an absolute must for any truck guy! Thanks K&N! (Does not work with any throttle body spacer [hood won't close cuz the intake tube sits too high], unless you make some garage modifications to the intake tube)
I bought the K&N No. 57-3013-2, 57 Series FIPK Performance Intake Kit for a 1998 Chevy Tahoe 5.7L and it made a whopping difference!! The sound is great, it really roars, but the acceleration and gas mileage make this a stellar investment. You guys make a great product!! Overall, it is just much more fun to drive!
At first I wasn't really sure about ordering this part. I still did and it was not a wrong decision. After installing it on my Tahoe it gave my truck more power and I even saved gas since it ran very rough before. Without a doubt, I recommend this five star item thank you K&N.
My K&N cold air intake came with the 1996 GMC Yukon I bought in 2013. You can tell it adds horse power and it even makes the engine sound more powerful than a stock air box. Also, one of the mounting studs for the heat shield/air box broke and the excess movement wore out the coupling between the MAF & the filter. I called K&N customer service and they replaced all the damaged parts & shipped them for free even after I told her the K&N stuff came with the truck! That's customer service and standing by a product! I've been a K&N user for decades and will continue to do so! Great job and great products!
The 4" coupler was too short and kept popping off so I got another polyurethane spectre boot to go onto the intake and works fine. Also the hardware provided for the throtle body was too short so I had to get longer ones. And the one part that slightly irritated me but I'll get over it is the fact that it doesn't seal the air driven through the fender. It takes aur from everywhere else as well. I have mods to fix the issues and overall costed me an additional $20 in supplies. I'll still give it 4 stars because I know when it's properly sealed it does beautifully. All and all minor mods but irritating.
Because general motors discontinued throttle body seal for the factory air cleaner assembly, 2000 Yukon 5.7. the k&n throttle body adapter had an ear clocked wrong, had to drill out all three mounting flanges
The filter doesn't even fit. It kept popping off and mine isn't the intake tube mines is actually the intake itself. It does not fit it's huge and it just rubs with the fender not able to fit properly and it slips off. The box is just wobbly with two bolts that don't do a good job. Can't even enjoy driving it cuz I'm just constantly worried about it falling off while driving since the silicone is also covered with some oil protectant and slips right off when tightening it.
Will never use K&N again. Have the same problem some other people are having. Tube popping off while driving. I ordered a different tube thinking that was the problem and they sent the same part but they we're different in size, doesn't make sense but still didn't matter cause it still comes off while driving. Home my engine isn't ruined.
