Installation wasn't as easy as the youtube videos because those videos are over 5 yrs old and few of the parts in mine are different from the videos but after i read the actual instructions that came in the box it was easier to assemble. The unit looks awesome and sounds great so i gave it 5 stars for that , but don't use those youtube videos 😉
I've had this intake for 5 years on my 19 ram classic w/ 5.7 hemi 4x4 no tune. Definitely noticed a little power gain and dropped a 1/2 second on my 1/4 mile time. Love it.
easy to install, as soon as I started up the truck u can a noticeable difference. Also my mpg went up almost 3 mpg on a Ram 1500
This is the fourth time I have put a K & N cold air intake on either my truck or full size SUV. This time installed it on my 2013 Ram 1500 Hemi. As with the others, I could instantly feel the increase in power and acceleration. I have not checked for a mileage increase, but that was not the reason I had installed it.
The only thing I think would help is that the fitting for the crankcase breather was 90 degrees to help put the supplied hose on it. Also the hose was just a little small to fit on the pipe that I had to cut. Besides those issues everything else was just as the instructions said.
I took my time, having never installed this type of product. In approx. 90 minutes the job was done. I was slow, careful, and deliberately following directions. Being especially mindful of delicate sensors and making sure all conections were tight. It was very satisfying to hit the start button and hearing the Hemi come to life and see no warning lights. There is an increased powerful growl from under the hood when she kicks down a gear going up a hill. The difference is palpable. I'm happy. Shortly after installation, we drove to Maine essentially on secondary roads. On filling up in Newport, Me. the mileage range was 615 miles, the highest yet. You don't get a Hemi for gas mileage, but a mpg increase of a mile or two won't hurt.
This is the 3rd K&N cold air performance intake system I've put on. Every time you can feel and see the horse power gains. It's very easy to see how much air restriction the factory system have on them. Almost makes one wonder how any air flows the the factory intakes. I will put one on each vehicle that I purchase.
I'm 28 years old and have been putting K&N filters on my vehicles since I was 16 with my first car. I just bought a '13 RAM and first thing I did was order one of these intakes. They have made a lifelong buyer out of me along with the 7 vehicles I've put a K&N filter on. They deliver everything they promise, great company, great product and great service. Couldn't be more happy!
I purchased this unit for a 2011 Dodge Ram and it arrived in 4 days. The directions are easy to follow and the photos are helpful. It took about 40 minutes to install with very little problems although the removal of the air intake temperature sensor is not as easy as it seems. I did not dyno the truck before or after installation but there is a noticeable increase in power. I wish I would have purchased this unit the day that I bought the truck.
Sounds great, feels great! Only issue is the one elbow is too big for the hose it connects to, lucky to have another right angle connector to make it work handy.
