Bought it for my 2014 Cla 250 and runs great, came with everything needed to install and is well fitting, big increase in turbo sounds compared to the stock intake and also improves exhaust tone, slight improvement in throttle response/power as well.
Just installed this very well-made intake in my 2014 CLA. Installation was simple and straight-forward, and all necessary hardware was included. A few installation notes: 1) have the .pdf of the installation instructions available on your device, as the printed pictures that come with the kit are, at times, not very helpful; 2) the instructions suggest a utility knife for cutting the rubber gasket/seal - I had in my toolbox, and suggest, using a medium tin snip, as it makes cutting the bit of metal in the seal strip very easy; 3) do all the set-up of the intake first (mounts, rubber seals, logo plate, filter, ECU) before you remove your stock intake. In my opinion this will make installation more enjoyable, as you can do all this from the comfort of your LA-Z-BOY. The ECU moves from the side of the stock intake to the bottom of the K&N intake. Be gentle as you manipulate and re-route the ECU wiring harness, but don't fear - fitment is perfect. You'll also notice this intake takes advantage of both of the air inlets at the front of the engine bay, whereas the stock intake uses only one. Fire it up! Idle exhaust note is subtly deeper and louder. WOT in Sport is very satisfying, both in exhaust note and power improvement. ECO mode improvement is very much there as well. I can't quantify the power increase, but my backside feels it. And if you enjoy some turbo whine that was lacking with the stock set-up, you've got some now.
I have miss some hardware upon receiving my intake, but it wasn't anything I couldn't fine in my garage. Other then that this intake is just awesome. I had no issues installing it looks great. So five stars for me!..
Yo, this Air Intake has changed the tone of the exhaust, AND I LIKE IT! The turbo whistles now in stereo for the very 1st time. The power increase is noticeable and In my opinion the K&N Performance Air Intake is well worth the $$$.
This was an upgrade well worth the money. Only issue is fittament not great, had to get a little creative. (4.5 is my rating} However the results are, More, Power, Awesome Sound, better driving experience.
The stock air cleaner had a gaping hole in the air flow hose. As I looked further, it was clear I had to upgrade to K&N. The Pro, It took about an hour to construct the new K&N filter housing. 20 minutes to remove the OEM air filter system. The K&N system is a tight fit, the boost to performance and fuel mileage is clearly worth the time and money spent! The Con, K&N system is not service friendly. The whole system must be remove and deconstructed to service the filter, then reconstructed and reinstalled. OEM filter has a couple of clips to open and change the filter, however, the OEM system has 50% LESS air flow than the K&N system
Overall kit is good, certainly notice the little bit of extra power, especially when driving around in Economy mode. Installation wasn't so great, it wasn't a perfect fit. The screw set isn't labelled at all so you have to work out through process of elimination which goes where. The rubber sealing has to be cut and fitted manually - why not have it pre-fitted from the factory? makes no sense and makes for unnecessary work and it's never going to be as good as a fitment from the factory. The ECU screw mounts on the base of the unit were slightly off and meant the mounting screws when fitted were at an angle which makes them cross thread! The kit didn't actually fit within the left radiator bracket and a notch had to be cut into the kit to make it fit, otherwise it wouldn't even close the gap between the air inlet port at the front grill. Bit disappointed, could be a great product otherwise. Fitted to W176 2014 A250
After 2 years of use. The air box seems to have cracked or broken in all vital places. The cracks or holes are on every mounting point for the ECU and filter. The screws fit into the imbedded brass threaded sleeves, but the plastic no longer holds it firm and the threaded sleeves came right out when I tried to loosen the screws upon removal. Every place a screw goes into the box is either broken or gone. Leaving it with a hole right next to the filter. The plastic is now brittle and distorted and it's difficult to get back into the car after cleaning the filter because parts of it don't line up with the mounting points in the frame or front bulkhead above the radiator. The rubber gaskets are the only part that seems to have survived unscathed.
