You're nervous that rumble that comes at higher RPMs roughly round 3000.
Just wanted everyone to know I purchased this product last year, it's been pretty good, but during routine maintenance noticed a cracked intake tube. From tube to coupling for trottle body. Most likely cracked over winter, but was surprised. The reason for the review is how GREAT K&N responded. They didn't skip a beat an within 2 days new part arrived. Now that's a company I want to do business with. Thanks again K&N, see ya down the road!
Great quality. Sound increase when getting on accelerator makes it sound deep. Only thing that the heat shield rubber covering was a pain in the butt. And the fact 2 plastic bolts were given to insert in a metal thread made stripping it about half more common
K%26N original part. Made my truck run better. Price at Walmart was better than anywhere else.
Easy to install. Sounds great! Saving aprox 2-3 mpg on my 16' silverado
Greatly helps my 6.2 liter Yukon XL. The only drawback is the noise level is much greater than anticipated. That kept it from getting a 5. I am a long time K&N user, however this is the first time bought more than a filter. Sound level is OK, but moderate acceleration sound is greatly increased. Under hard acceleration, WHO CARES?!
Not sure about Horsepower or torque increase because I am not always flooring it, but it does give it a good sound when you half throttle or step on it all the way. And it keeps the engine bay clean looking so that you can work on other stuff without removing the whole air intake box from factory.
Filter came in fast, took me about 45 minutes to remove the old one and install the new one on my 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 and everything fit right together. The truck sounds completely different when you step on the gas. My gas milage has gone up about a mile per gallon. Great product all around.
Whenever you install the MASS AIR FLOW sensor at the end of the installation. Crank it up and few times and drive it around for a couple of miles. Then try and crank it again. It will act like an old school flooded carb. When it does this, take the MASS AIR FLOW sensor back out of the intake and clean it very gently with a Q-tip and some alcohol and reinstall.. There's way too much oil on the K&N Filter and pretty quickly it ends up on your sensor and then it won't run worth a flip.. Hope this helps..
It did increase performance a little but not sure about the excessive sound could be annoying when towing a trailer not sure if I will leave it installed or go back to original .
