I've had a K&N product on my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 (with the 5.2L) pretty much since I got it new in January 99. 12 years later, and 160,000 miles I still swear by these. About 2.5 years ago I switched from just the replacement stock filter to a Gen II Air Intake and I've gotta say that I am happy I did. Just hit 50,000 since I put the Gen II in and I'm actually letting the filter dry right now. Power increase is noticeable. Sound is definitely better over my dual-exhaust with just the stock replacement air filter. And I personally have seen an increase in fuel economy.
Having already experienced K&N air filters on all my past motorcycles(mx/supermoto) I knew that I couldn't go wrong with an intake system for my old truck. Purchasing this 57-series intake for my 98 ram 360v8/5.9l made a nice clean power gain along with feeling much more responsive in acceleration compared to the old factory box...I'm satisfied with this product and feel that it was another good purchase for the price. Thanks K&N
Great product, paired this system with a flowmaster cat back exhaust system and gave my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 a new lease on life at 135,000 miles. I can hear the engine breath, wow. Thanks from me and the truck.
Unit went on moderate difficulty, some difficulty with hitting the center hole in carburetor with set bolbettert. Appearance is much better than OEM.
Awesome product. Truck is faster. Mileage is better. Makes passing on freeway easier. The engine breathes easier not having to take a big gulp of air but rather a larger steady flow. 99 Dodge Ram.
For a beginner it was pretty easy , makes a nice sound and improved my gas milage. I would 100% recommend
priced for questionable increase in real weld perceived performance. Installing was mild to moderate difficulty. Instructions for the most part we're adequate
I added this to my truck in one morning. I found it very easy to install. All the things I needed were there. I would order again.
This is a perfect upgrade however the support bracket only works with the stock intake manifold. I would like K&N to include a means of supporting the plenum with the Hughes/Edelbrock intake manifold as well.
Parts are simply thrown in a bag with no real organization for efficient identification. Instructions are hazy at best. And they skip several steps. Causing installation back tracking. Plus, the heat shield box isn't very air tight for clean efficient flow. I would NOT recommend this system. I have an actual Mopar cai that is much much better design.
