5 Star Review
First off, I would buy this again and I would have given it five starts had the installation instructions been better. I have a 2014 Toyota Tacoma with the 4.0L V6 that also has the secondary air pump. The instructions cover this pretty well, but the pictures are low resolution and difficult to see. The installation of the existing gasket onto the K&N system was difficult to see and it was hard to tell which side of the supplied frame it attaches to. A call to tech support helped when the support agent was able to look at his high resolution pictures. It goes on the outside by the way. The next issue was with the secondary air pump. The pictures did not match my pump and I could not figure out how to move the pump. Once I determined that my pump had a cover on it and I removed the cover, the pictures matched and I was able to continue the installation. No where in the text or pictures was there a mention of a cover on the secondary air pump. The pump would absolutely not fit if the cover was to remain on. Once I got past these hurdles, the system worked great. Pro tip, add a little gasket sealer to the corners of the gasket to keep it from falling of the frame, or grow a third hand.
I drive my Tacoma easy most of the time and I get an average 19.5 MPG. Now that I have installed this ram air system and filled the tank over a dozen times I now measure my MPG at 21.5 so I have seen a very significant improvement in MPG. I have used a an app called Fuelly to track my MPG for several years and I can see by the graph the MPG has improved about 10% because of this air intake system
This wasn't horribly difficult to figure out how to Install but the instructions (and video) are the worst I've seen. If you're buying this, don't plan on using K&N's included instructions.
