Just put the 57 series intake on my 2001 Chevy Blazer Xtreme and WOW!!! The performance is great and the sound is awesome when you get around 3000 plus RPM or when you're in a strong pull. Since K&N doesn't make a complete system for my 1990 Mustang GT, just the filter, this is my first real intake with air duct and filter and I'm really impressed. Thanks K&N for the great products. I also bought a 69 series Typhoon for my wife's 2002 Toyota Celica. Put it on and dang...it is loud!!! Now I see why its called a Typhoon. You got a customer for life. Thanks K&N.

Great Product Hello,     I just wanted to let you know that I am very happy with the FIPK (Air Intake) that I got for my 2001 Chevy S-10 (4.3L w/5sp) pickup.  I can feel a big difference in acceleration.  I do mostly mixed driving, but when I get on the highway I need to merge quickly onto busy roads, so I really mash down the accelerator.  Around town I tend to drive in 4th gear at 25-30mph and the intake has made a difference in the way it sounds and I don't feel like I am bogging it down so much.  I have only gone through 1 tank of gas, but in just that tank I have seen a 2.2mpg increase in fuel economy, that includes some hot rodding to experience the difference and impress my friends!! Thanks, Update - I have a K&N replacement filter on my '05 Civic Hybrid and it has made a 1.6mpg increase.  On my last long trip I hit 51.1mpg, which was the first time I have broke the 50mpg barrier.

1998 Blazer FIPK Testimonial Hey K&N! Just wanted to let you guys know how happy I am with my recent FIPK purchase! I've been using you filters since '89 on all my vehicles.  I finally got the chance to upgrade my Blazer to FIPK and what a difference over the stock airbox, the truck runs smoother than before.  Also, the gas mileage increase doesn't hurt, either! Sincerely,

Don January 30, 2019

I recently installed an FIPK unit on my 2000 Chevy Blazer 4.3L. WOW, what a difference in power, acceleration, and overall performance. I have used K&N filters in my 1987 IROC Z-28, Harley Sportster and the family van and the results are never disappointing. These filters are worth every penny and save me money in the long run. Great job on the simple to follow instructions with the FIPK and keep these great products flowing. One satisfied customer, Don UPDATE: I also want to add that I have been monitoring my fuel mileage. I am pleased to tell you that I have seen an increase of 1.2 mpg. That is about an 8% improvement. Thank you for a great product.

I put the air induction system on my 1998 Chevy Blazer, along with a new flowthru 50' series muffler, 3 inch exaust from the catalitic converter back, and changed the fuel filter.  Engine 4.3 liter or 260 cubic inches. My mileage went from 15mi in town to 19mi per gal and 18mpg on road to 23.9 on the road. Feels like 20 horse power pick up.  What do you think?

Great Product!

Blazer 98 December 28, 2014

Bought one of the other brands first at $150 but wasn't very good quality with an aluminum secondary tube that draws heat and a one piece fitting at the carb making it harder to work on. I went with the K&N because it stays cooler and is easier to work on once installed. Made my blazer run, shift and sound better. Installation was harder than expected but not too hard. For the back bolt on the carb (that you have to reuse), once it's off you will Have to use a "thin" wrench & socket to separate the two parts or two nuts locked together on the post & socket because of the clearence between the nut and old spacer. For the heat shield, when you drill the holes, you will need a compact/smaller drill or angle drill for the bottom hole. Also use a slightly smaller drill bit than stated. The self tapping screws on mine are good for now but they don't tighten down all the way, like they are stripped or something but with no rattling...yet! You'll have to install the air filter on the secondary tube first, leave the tube bracket with a little rotation left in it and then place the secondary tube through tube bracket, the heat shield and into the rubber boot connected to the Mass Air Flow Sensor and then tighten everything down. Bottom line is that this product is a bit pricey but worth every extra penny. Oh yeah, on mine the K&N logo is large raised letters, not a sticker or painted on logo. Sleeves are also black not orange. Hope this helps.

Unhappy buyer

B Ray February 5, 2024

The filter only catches big particals of dust, little particals of dust blow right through the filter causing the MAF to be clogged with oil and grime. I have washed it and put new K&N oil on the filter and has not improved its performance. I do not get more power or more mpg with this filter, only a dirty engine.
