Customer Insights: Rated 3.75/5 from 8 reviews.
This really added throttle response and acceleration to my Expedition. Put it into SPORT mode and it really wakes the 3.5 liter up. You can hear the turbos kick in a bit more when hitting the pedal but not too much. The gas mileage has remained about the same but the HP and Torq increase is easy to notice. The aluminum pipes look great in the engine compartment and the open filter will make it simple to clean. The installation was simple, straight forward and easily done with no help. It gave my grocery getter some real get up and go.
This brought my 2018 F150 3.5tt to life. Great sound and power you can feel.
After trying the Roush, Spectre and then this intake system, this is by far the best of all... The design, power increase and sound of the turbos is not compatible with the competition
I've run K&N intakes on quite a few of my vehicles but this one didn't live up to my expectations. The tubes going into the filter don't fit well and the clamps want to slip off when you try to tighten them. I had them on the best I could get them and one still popped off after a short test drive. If it happens again I'll be going back to the stock intake.
I am missing the part in the last step of the install (PCV Insert). Meaning that my truck is now down until this part arrives. CS says 1-3 days processing then shipping. May have to uninstall, bummed!
Pros: 1) Throttle response is better with this intake. The power is there when I need it. 2) It looks very nice. Cons: 1) As stated in other reviews both tubes feel just a centimeter or too short. The filter just wont stay on the tube with the clamp unless it is absolutely perfect and the clamp is screwed on very tight. Once you do that it stays, but it takes a minute to get it in that position. 2) No enhanced engine growl like other versions I have purchased for previous trucks. Yes, you can hear the turbo more pronounced, but was expecting a growl that just isn't there. 3) This is the big one. Now my turbo makes a "chirping" noise when you get on the gas then back off just a bit. This is not a blow off sound as you would think with too much psi. This results in decreased power as the turbo tries to decide if it needs to give 5 psi or 6 psi then back to 5 psi and repeat. This is just an example on the PSI, but the chirping sound is there and the power loss is very noticeable. I have tried resetting the Mass Airflow Sensor. I have taken it to the dealer and they wont touch it since its custom. Otherwise it does seem to work. However, with the sound, I may end up removing this and selling it as the sound does not feel normal and I will not tolerate this intake causing damage to my vehicle.
Low quality K&N has always been my favorite but I think it's time to look at other brands.. low quality
