Installed on my 2006 4.0 TJ two weeks ago. Was hoping to up my 12.7 mpg some. I was shocked I got 18.18 mpg when I checked it today. It runs smoother and I can run a gear higher now without shifting down. Total install time about 1 hour everything fit perfectly.
K&N - First hand, I want to say how impressed I am with your product. I recently bought a new 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sport and was disappointed with the power and acceleration it had. Once I had the FIPK Generation II installed by my local 4x4 store I noticed major improvements in terms of passing lanes and full throttle response and definitely gas mileage. Thanks for making a quality product. Thanks.
I just wanted to tell you about the excellent results I have experienced after installing a FIPK (air intake) kit. I installed the assembly on a well maintained 1999 Jeep Wrangler, 4.0 Liter 6, standard transmission, with 86000 miles on it. Prior to installation, I achieved 15 MPG city and between 17 and 18 MPG Highway. Pickup was OK. Since installation, acceleration has significantly improved. In addition, I do not downshift in situations where in the past I did - i.e. I can take upgrades in 4th gear now where in the past I downshifted to 3rd. I corner in 3rd as opposed to downshifting to second. I clearly have achieved a significant increase in horsepower and torque, although I did not have access to any dyno to determine what the "before and after" numbers are. But in a recent 300 mile trip, the highway MPG has increased to 19.7 MPG, a minimum 10% increase!! Needless to say I am extremely pleased with this product. I have used K & N products for years, and have never been disappointed, but this is truly a superb result. Great job on this - I'm telling the world the good news. Thanks!!
I have been a long time user of K&N oil filters, and the reusable air filter for the stock air box, on a 2000 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L, with 189,000miles. After installing the new FIPK all I can say is WOW! What an improvement in performance, tonal quality, and mpg. It was all significantly improved. Thanks to all at K&N! You guys live up to your reputation, quality, and expectations.
K & N ?? In my opinion the air intake or the filter is one of the most important things that should be installed. On my JEEP I've really felt the difference after I have installed the K&N COLD AIR INTAKE. It's really worth it to purchase it, and at the same time the price of the K&N filters are reasonable. I ordered the K&N air filter kit for my 2005 Rubicon Wrangler. I asked my mecahinic to install it. He offered it won't make any difference, it won't help. Then a second mechanic told me when I picked it up just about the same thing. Well, I left and drove it up a summit where we travel every day between Elko and Spring Creek at the base of the Ruby Mountains. HAHA, Whoa boy!!!. I then drove back to the garage to grab the owner and mechanic and then proceeded to tell him It has increased my horsepower by 20%, I'm am not kidding, WOW, smooth effortless power up that summit as well as the rest of the hills going home. I just want to let you guys know I own a 2002 Jeep Wrangler and I recently had to get it smogged but the decal wore off so I need to get a new one. Let me tell you, the word is out. I'm telling everyone I know. Your customer service is outstanding. Miles ahead of the rest. This is why I purchased this for my 2013 Honda Civic and as soon as you make one for my 2013 Honda CRF 250L I'll be purchasing one for it as well. Please let Brenda O. know, perfection at its best. Keep doing what it is you do. Thank you.
I had been thinking about installing a K&N Air Intake on my 2000 Jeep Wranlger for the past few years and finally decided to buy one after seeing a few of them installed on some of my friends Jeeps. They all told me that they saw an immediate gain in HP, which comes in pretty handy on the trails, and increase in acceleration. It took me about an hour to install the intake on my Jeep and after making sure all my fittings were tight I hit the road and took a test drive. The noise from the additional air coming into the engine was very obvious and I noticed an immediate gain in my acceleration, even with 76,000 miles on my Jeep. I can't wait to see how my Jeep handles the trails this weekend with the additional HP. Great product and very simple installation. Keep up the good work K&N!!!
I've been building a 1997 Jeep Wrangler for the past two years. It's a 4.0L, six cylinder, getting an average of 11.9 mpg, city. Following the installation of a K&N Fuel Injection Performace Kit, there is a noticable increase in acceleration. A bonus to this is an increase in the miles per gallon to 14.1, city driving. I've not checked on the highway yet, but anticipate an equal benefit there, too. Thanks to K&N for providing a well designed and manufactured product that does EXACTLY what it says it will do. This will be a highly recommended addition to all off roaders in our group.
Since installation my driving has been limited to in and around town. I've yet to take a road trip and see if your K&N Air Filter increased my Passing Power or Gas Mileage. If you would like a follow-up, give me another 8 months and I'll let you know if I have noticed any improvements in Performance and/or Mileage.
