PURCHASED AIR INTAKE SYSTEM No. 57-1549 FOR MY '07 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED, w/5.7L HEMI IN MAY, 2011. I HAVE KEPT TRACK OF EVERY FILL-UP / MPG SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN NOV., 2010. AVERAGING, 'ALL AROUND' 10.3 MPG.  UGH!!!! AFTER 1st FILL-UP w/K&N AIR INTAKE, (SAME DRIVING PARAMETERS), AVERAGE  equals  15.8 MPG!! AFTER 2nd FILL-UP, 17.1 MPG!!! INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! AND, THOUGH NOT MY 'REASON' FOR PURCHASING UNIT, THE ONE OR TWO TIME I HAVE GOTTEN' ON IT, THE RESPONSE WAS TERRIFIC. QUICKER THAN ANY / ALL EXPECTATIONS. THEN, I SAW THE POLICE CAR AND BACKED OFF! THANX, 'GUYS'! ONLY COMPLAINT: THE STICKER FOR EMMISSIONS INSPECTION VERY POOR. THE STAMPED NUMBER 34 LOOKS TO EVERYONE I'VE SHOWN IT TO, TO BE 84. BEING 'DISABLED', I PAID 1 HOUR OF LABOR TIME TO A LOCAL SHOP TO INSTALL THE UNIT FOR ME. COULD HAVE DONE IT MYSELF . . . BUT, DID NOT FEEL LIKE SPENDING 4 - 5 HOURS, AT MY PACE, TO DO SO. COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED. AGAIN, THANX!! FOR THE MILEAGE & EVERYTHING!

I have been utilizing K and N filters and air intake systems now for 15 years and I tell everyone to use them without hesitation. The K and N is simply an excellent product without a doubt. When I purchase a vehicle the first upgrade I purchase is a K and N filter or an intake. My 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Hemi already runs good - with the K and N intake it runs great-smooth-sounds nice-good mileage. Works in conjunction with my other upgrades to give me a real world 24.3 mpg on the interstate and 15.5 or better in town.

WOW.  This is an amazing product (57-1549). I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 5.7 Hemi. I was getting 11 MPG and decent performance.  I installed the K&N air intake system easily myself.  My wife and I were blown away on our first test drive after installing. WOW!!  Turned my Jeep into a beast with AWESOME sound!!  Big horse power & torque gains!!!  Our next suprise was when we drove the Jeep around town.  We now get over 17 MPG in town!!!!  I can't wait to see the highway difference.  This is the best thing you can do for your car.  I have since put one our Cobalt and have had the same wonderful experience.  Thank you K&N!!!! You will go on everyone of my vehicles for life!!  The simple math is 6+MPG more @ 18 gallons a tank  equals  108+ more miles EACH TANK.  Very impressive results.

I definitely recommend this product. Noticeable increase in torque at all RPMs. My 2006 5.7L Grand Cherokee even seems to shift smoother when accelerating normally from a stop. Maximum power accelerations produce an impressive deep throated sound in addition to the increased power. I am hoping to see an increase in gas mileage, but have not driven my vehicle enough with the new K&N Cold Air Intake installed to make a determination. Any increase will be just icing on the cake. Installation took me about an hour and a half and was not difficult. I recommend reading the instructions completely before starting the installation. That way, you can ensure you are using the correct nuts, bolts and washers as you proceed through the installation. I'm a fully satisfied customer. Thanks for a great product, K&N.

I would have given five stars had all the parts been there but I had to find my own nuts and bolts to complete it, also had to drill my own hole for the sensor, which wasn't a big deal, but was unexpected. There were some hardware, but it was incomplete. My car definitely has more horsepower and is getting better fuel mileage!

-Installation on my 2008 Jeep GC 5.7 was straightforward once I received the instructions (they didn't come in the box so I had to reach out to support. They contacted me in 4 days). From "tools out to tools away" was 85 minutes for me. Having done two before, I knew the drill. If this is your first time and your a DIY'er and not a mechanic, allot 2-2.5 hours, unless you memorize the instructions ahead of time. After 1 month of daily driving, highway and town: -There's a noticeable increase in throttle response! My 2008 Jeep GC 5.7 already has a pretty loud drone when riding about 2000 RPMs in 4th gear, and the CAI certainly accentuates it. It reminds me of the same noise I had in my 2012 f350 6.2. Deep, guttural... sexy! (Unless your wife is attempting to tell you something important... he he) -With the touchier throttle response comes worse MPG as a whole. Sure, if you focus on nothing except foot control, you may be able to squeak out 1-2 more mpg's, but I've been relatively unsuccessful in this feat. I knew this already though. -Don't buy a CAI for increased fuel economy!!! As Socrates said, "Know thyself." Sure, you may be able to convince your wife that the CAI will pay itself back within 20,000 miles with today's fuel prices IF you get 1-2 more MPG, but that's a very rotund, borderline obese IF-- --but, that IF worked for me... so, give it a whirl! But don't expect anything more than better pick-up, louder noise, and the ability to say more frequently, "Honey, I honestly didn't hear what you said in the car."
