I did the installation myself and it was really easy. Took about 45 min from opening the box. The directions for putting the heat shield together was a bit confusing but you have to read carefully. The intake itself made my truck a little deeper sounding and the throttle response increased greatly. I can actually hear my turbo clearly now!:)
I own a Ford '97 F-250 7.3L. I Just got a new K&N filter intake system and put the factory one in the box of the K&N filter! Let me tell you something bro the throttle feels better with the intake. I'm able to get a better response from it and the turbo dude when I step on it lightly the turbo spoons and sounds loud just with this intake ,its funny when I make the turbo sound like that when I'm passing the Cummins and other people cause its loud and sounds like the 6.0 coming from a 7.3L plus it lowers EGT Temp. It's a must for the '97 F-250 Powerstrokes trust me. …just feels better knowing it just feels right. Thanks K&N
This was a perfect fit for my 95 Powerstroke. First-rate job by the designers at K & N. Kudos, Jay
Easy to install took about 30 minutes to an hour. Very clean looking in the truck. Makes The turbo sound better
The only negative is that it makes an already loud truck a bit louder. The instructions are quite good, but the photography is average at best. I am glad I didn't throw anything away from the old intake housing, because quite a bit of it was reinstalled. Truth be told, you saved my life, because no factory intake housings were available for love nor money. Yes, I destroyed the previous one with starting fluid. My old F-250 Power Stroke should make it to 300,000 miles soon. Thanks.
