I've used K&N filters on all my vehicles for the patst 15 years. I have never had a problem or defect with any of the ones I used. Custom 2001 for Lightning, 83 Ford Ranger 306 385 HP, 2001 Toyota Corolla Power Adders. I don't think there is anohter brand out there that meets up to the spec's and performance of K&N filters, I'm sold and will have have one on the next build I do.
Got a K&N air filter for my 2008 Scion tC 5 speed. This transmission unfortunately is geared to make the engine scream at highway speeds (over 4000 RPM at 70 mph). After putting in the KN, I noticed a different engine note, not louder per se but more of a whooshing almost turbo-like sound at highway speeds which was very cool. Not coincidentally, my highway mpg which I meticulously calculate at every fill-up went from 29 to 31 and combined mileage from 25 to 26. Neat. Thanks guys.
My friend told me about KN air filters, as opposed to K&N cold air intakes, which are better, if you have a budget to work with. I must say, as soon as I brought and installed it, right away in the parking lot, wow, what a difference in the engine, the sounds as well, and speed. 4 cyl, Toyota Corrolla
I always looked at the K&N products as I kept buying those replacement air filtration products. Unable to justify the costs of these products built for the same purpose but at such different price points. After spending 2x the amount of your K&N air filter I checked the book for the model No. for the vehicles I'd be buying for. I opened the boxes and examined the deeply red cloth element w/it's soft silicone rubber gasket. This IS an excellent product! My German Grandfather who worked all his life at MACK trucks, earning de-ferments from both world wars his work was so needed. HE would really recognize the Quality+Craftmanship of a co. whose product is made by workers who know its value. My father said Only rich men can afford to buy cheap products and your 1,000,000 quality guaranteed warranty says more than any slogan or t.v. ad could. I bought those filters that day and I put 1 in a 2004 Toyota Corrolla 1.8L, not an image of speed. I had already installed that VORNADO thing on all the vehicles but despite a slight increase in fuel economy not much else. But with the addition of the K&N I felt like I had another 2 cylinders! It breathed much easier, didn't down-shift as often nor easily as it did B4 on over-passes and inclines. It realy sold me on the highway. When passing or just merging it's torque had a more lengthy power-band where it just seemed to have the lungs and determination to just keep on going! I eagerly cleaned & re-oiled it, B4 it needed it but I just love the darn thing! While it was drying, I recommend all to buy the Re-Charger Kit at time of purchase as we all know it's better to have it on hand when needed than to need it and NOT have it on hand! So it's drying and I return the TOYOTA MFG OEM air filter run it around then remove the VORNADO to get the intake area clean. Run it - that w/oem filter, notice even greater dive in performance parameters! When I install the K&N I continue my experiment. Just your filter and it's feeling real eager,I add the Vornado thing again and that combo brings together a increase in driving fun, mpg's and torque & hp though I'm not able to quantify the latter two I sure feel it in the seat of my pants. I tell all that the small improvements like adding your products and investing in 4 high quality tires for 3 seasons and 4 Blizzak Snow tires for winter and other simple enthusiast upgrades can add to the enjoyment and life of its engine working right to most any car/truck Keep up the quality and good work-maybe the research into other new products to us loyal devotee's out here! I replaced a rather overly-thick paper air filter that was pretty jammed up with this one in my 07 Vibe. It made a very noticeable difference in acceleration. In fact, the engine had a bit more of a noticeable rumble at idle and sounded a lot more aggressive. I ran a "what speed can I get to" on the same uphill onramp test twice before and three times after. It was a little over 10MPH faster on average at the top of the ramp at 11F air temp. It has a predictable automatic transmission as well so it was a fair test. The magic question of how much horsepower can you gain in any given car can usually be answered by asking how badly designed is the stock air intake? Apparently in the Vibe, it's awful. So drop one in and get some POWER!
I just began servicing my wife's 2007 Scion TC, in lieu of the dealer, and installed a K&N cartridge filter this afternoon. I have always been a skeptic, but I chose K&N for this vehicle because of the 1,000,000 mile warranty, and reputation for quality that even my local stealership cannot deny. When it pays for itself in three filter changes, what do you have to lose? As far as power, I chirped the tires at half-throttle shifting into second. It may just be semantics, but it made me grin... and here I felt the need to say it. I'll buy K&N again.
Little hickup in the shipping process. However this was fixed quickly through the call center. Nice, knowledgable people and an overall great product.
Dear K&N-Team, Congratulations to your product. I got this part (33-2252) for my Toyota Corolla 1,6 and I am very amazed about HP and especially acceleration. Best whishes and kindly regards
My K%26N opened plastic packaging and there were 10ish white threads on the engine side intake of the filter (These would have been sucked into the engine if I didn't notice/didn't care). I pulled 8 off then these last two you can see where deeper seemingly sewn into the filter. I contacted K%26N who no questions immediately sent another filter. (But originally K%26N website only displays a [email protected] and I heard nothing for a week. I called to inquire what's going on and a nice CS told me that's the wrong email, I should have sent to [email protected] (It's no use getting upset with people you speak to on the phones when it's the overpaid CEOs/top managers who make these decisions, are responsible for viewing their own website and procedures. There's absolutely no way any customer would know this. It's either incompetence or purposely done it hopes customers will give up.
This is for a Lotus Elise and the air box is hard enough to get to. It was difficult to get the box closed once the filter was installed. I think I am going to buy your cold air intake for the car. I use your filters in all my vehicles.
