This is a top notch air filter and it helps the engine to get better air flow with increased fuel mileage. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Easy to install. Already seeing better gas mileage.
Bought air filter for my 2012 VW Jetta With 2L turbo Diesel Noticed BIG Difference first time on the road Make trip to VA hospital frequently Check mileage allot on this set route. 120M round trip Went from 46mpg to 51mpg with your product Brag it up a lot
Just bought a 2019 Passat Wolfsburg 2.0T Budack cycle TSi. One week later I installed the 33-2865. Fitment is excellent, sound is excellent and not noticeably louder to passengers but what impresses most is the throttle response and (not dynoed) surge when accelerating. Excellent product and worth every cent. Question: what is the efficiency rating for this filter? I assume it's between 97-99%. Thx K&N
I have used K&N filters in every car I have owned for the past 20 years or so. I gave one to my grandson for his Volvo. He liked it so much he asked me to get him one for his VW. He is 18 and in college. He will no doubt be purchasing a K&N filter for every car he will ever own.
After 220,000 km in my 2006 Touran 1.9 TDI with NO problems, and noticably better acceleration and less Diesel consumption 6.2L/l00KM, I installed the same filter in our 2011 Tiguan 140CRD Diesel. We now have 36.000 KM on that car, and the turbo is faster, because the KN 33-2865 reduces intake air drag by 2/3. Needless to say, a KN filter will make the turbos last longer because of the reduced intake pressure loss Both of my previous PASSAT DIESELS had more than 330,000KM in 5 years of company car stress, and we never had trouble with the turbos AND NEVER NEEDED NEW AIR FILTERS KN rated for us: AAA, what more can I say.
News about the TOURAN: just passed the AU emisisons test at 150,000miles (236,500KM) thanks to the 33-2865, I am sure... But, like real life, the TOURAN will find a new home, as my new car has been ordered: POLO LIFE, 90 HP Diesel, DSG7 Automatic, should get about 50 mpg with the E-2997, to be installed prior to delivery, just rest assured!! I'll keep you posted folks! K&N filters, a habitforming accessory, THE MUST one won't be without!! p.s.: TIGUAN 140HP TDI DSG7 still running strong with the 33-2865, 45,000KM now, Rosi loves it!
I have used your air filters previously in my 1987 VW Fox and 1998 VW Jetta. With the Fox there was a noticeable increase in power/acceleration/mpg. With the Jetta I do not know since I had it installed when I picked up the car new at the dealership. Both lasted well past 100k miles with no problems. When I got my 2006 Ford Focus I was unable to use your excellent product because it has a non serviceable permanent air filter. Recently I purchased a 2010 VW Wolfsburg Edition Jetta (2.0 TSI) replacing the factory air filter at about 1600 miles with a model 33-2865. What was originally a fast car became a very fast car. Turbo lag is now a thing of the past. Throttle response is now much more immediate. Your products are amazing, simply no downside. Next is a reprogramming of the ECM. That should be fun.
Replaced the filter with a K&N and noticed that my gas mileage has edged up a little in my GLI. It also seems to breathe a bit better during acceleration. I have K&N filters on all three of my vehicles and swear by them.
Arrived quickly in oversized box leading me to think they sent the wrong filter. Otherwise, very easy to install. The car will run more efficiently and sounds better. Any gain in HP or MPG is welcome. I can't measure those changes with my left ear and right foot on my way to the next red light. No issues. I read enough pro & con and I choose to use this filter. I will replace it in 20k miles rather than cleaning and oiling it.
