After learning that the Ford Service Department where I had taken my car for 30K service didn't even have replacement filters for the hybrid, I decided to buy my first ever K&N filter. While I can't speak to longevity, we saw an improvement in gas mileage over our best-ever trip ratings. The fit on this item was excellent - the factory equipment filter had molding tabs left on the corners and had play in the gasket channel. This filter had very smooth molding and fit perfectly in the gasket ring. As the Atkinson cycle on our hybrids creates different flows of intake air than a traditional engine, I'd guess that gasket fit is pretty darn important.

'15 Fusion Energi
It works well and helped achieve average mpg of 60. That is correct. I would not believe it if I did not see it. Wow, something to really write home about.

Needs help
The side of the product that isn't connected to the actual air filter needs more reinforcement to ensure it stays installed properly. It tends to want to jump out of the channel that seals the air box when screwing lid into place.

Wrong filter in box
Not so much the filter because I dont even know. It showed up at my house with the wrong filter in the box. As I am leaving on Friday and dont have time to wait I had to order from a local parts store which wind up costing me more. Couldnt be more disappointed.

Hard to install
It is too hard to install!!! Why twist the sealing ring when packaging it. It will make the installation so hard
