The marine air filter is a great choice for replacing the highly restrictive, piece-of-junk spark arresters that come on most older I/O boat engines (and don't actually filter anything). I gained ~200 rpm at the top end just from replacing the spark arrester with a 9" K&N filter on my old Mercruiser V8. Great product, well designed and made. I like that it is cleanable for re-use and not disposable.

Never leave feedback for products, but have to on this one. Put these Flame Arrestors on two 220 HP Crusader engines with 4 bbl carbs. Picked up 3 miles per hour top end for a 42' cruiser (17% increase) along with the 200 RPM (5.3% inc.) on each motor. What was even more impressive was the throttle response, and the noticeable pull from the motors to get to top end. Well worth the money, and highly recommended.

Doesn't fit
Bought two of these air cleaners several months ago to install later. I can't get the element to fit inside of the top and bottom of the cleaner. The element's diameter is too large and will not stay in place. Assembly should not be this difficult for such a simple design. I have had it too long to return. It looks good and would work well on the cross ram manifold I'm installing. I'm in the market for a paper filter.
