5 Star Review

Very easy installation. Negative reviews I had read, mostly about screws not matching up with factory locations, were likely by people who tightened a screw before getting all the others started. Got my air intake system installed in under 60 minutes, no problems. My 2011 Mustang V6 sounds a lot more powerful under full throttle. Might even pull a bit harder too. Definitely looks better under the hood than the stock unit.

I have bought a CAI from K and N before for my 2005 F-250 and saw a decent gain in fuel economy. So  I wanted to install a CAI for my 2011 Mustang V6. There is a noticeable gain in power and fuel economy. Good product.

I would buy this product again.

The Mustang is older and a bit tired. I thought this cold air intake would help bring back that bit of umpff that it seems to be missing. And it did. On the instructions, say what screw goes where.

James January 30, 2019

After doing hours of research on CAI systems I decided to purchase the 69 series Typhoon CAI for my 2012 Mustang, V6, 3.7L. The product receives great review on the internet and through Youtube, I purchased through another online site ad received a slightly better deal than ordering it directly from K&N. The good and bad about this product is as follows: first off all the parts arrive in the box, and everything seemed in good shape. K&N states this should take about 40 minutes to install, on Youtube they say about 90 minutes, and that is exactly what it took me. I would of finished sooner (and here's the bad), but some of the holes do not line up and require some effort to make it work. I used a small rat tail file to expand the hole. What I'm talking about is the housing and the air filter (Doughnut) adapter - the holes (one hole) is off by maybe a 16th of an inch. Next the housing did not fit flush inside my car, every time I pushed it into place the air intake would pop out of the Ford air intake (The piece that goes into the front for air intake). After tinkering for some time I finally got the part to an Acceptable place and bolted it in place. All other parts fit as advertised. Just so every one knows I am not a mechanic and have very little experience working under the hood, but I'm above average when it comes to putting things together.
