Knob Creek Small Batch Straight Rye Whiskey, 750 ml Bottle, 50% ABV

First off I just want to say I usually get the original version but when I went to buy the original version in the store they were out. So I decided to try this one and I was very pleasantly surprised. This is very smooth, easy to drink, and a very good value for what it cost. I highly recommend knobb creek rye.

Knob Creek bourbon is one of my husband's favorite. This old rye whiskey is particularly smooth, with a sweeter oak taste. It's not overly spicy or peppery. The value is there. It's a quality brand and product so well worth the median price. For 100 proof, it maintains a smooth delivery. Try it!

Knob Creek Rye is a great value and pour. I keep a bottle on my shelf at all times. It's got a caramel flavor and not a super hot hit end then but still lends the typical rye spice. It's a great sip.

This Knob Creek Maple is one of my favorites. It has a wonderful sweet taste that pairs fantastically with coke and even apple cider for a great fall drink. The whiskey taste isn't too strong and goes down very smoothly, I definitely recommend this for people who like fun and sweeter whiskeys!

I got a chance to try Knob Creek Single Barrel recently, and it lives up to its reputation if you like big, full-flavored bourbon. The proof (120) shows right away, but it's not just heat — there's depth. On the nose I smell vanilla, oak, caramel, and a touch of leather or smoke. When you take a sip, there are strong notes of brown sugar, maple syrup, dark fruit, and lots of oak char. The mouthfeel is thick and somewhat syrupy, and though it burns a bit (thanks to the proof), it warms nicely and the flavors hold up. The finish is long, with lingering spice, oak, and a bit of dryness that makes you appreciate that extra sip. What I don't love as much: the heat can be intense early on - might be a lot for someone newer to high-proof bourbons. Also, because it's single barrel, you can get quite a bit of variation bottle to bottle. One moment it might be oak-heavy, the next more fruit-forward. And maybe a little less value if you're comparing to lower proof bourbons with smoother profiles.

A very smooth bourbon, consistent with other Knob Creek varieties. The maple flavor is strong in the profile and very sweet drinking on its own/neat. Great addition for an old fashion.
