After reading several recent, negative reviews I was expecting the worst. I was pleasantly surprised. The sauce turned out very well, with just the right consistency and good flavor.
I worked in a restaurant where we used Knorr hollandaise sauce on our quiche and that's where I learned to love it. I'm not sure it tastes exactly like homemade Hollandaise but if it's good, then it's good.
Despite their claims, it is clear that Knorr has change the recipe for their Hollandaise sauce, and definitely not for the better. The sauce used to taste exactly like the sauce on the eggs benedict at Perkins restaurant. I'm not sure if that's what Perkins uses or not or if the eggs benedict still tastes the same there. I have a student that works there and will ask. If they taste the same and it's not Knorr, I'll find out and switch over to that. The "New Coke" Knorr Hollandaise sauce is not worth the trouble to prepare. On the second tasting out of the saucepan, I thought it tasted VERY similar to powdered mac-n-cheese sauce. Sorry Knorr, ya lost me.
I just bought a 6 pack and it's terrible now. I actually had to go check the packet to make sure I bought the right thing, because it tastes nothing like the classic Knorr hollandaise sauce. This used to be the BEST hollandaise pack mix, and now there is practically no flavor and its weirdly fluffy like half-whipped cream. This used to be the only hollandaise I would buy, but at this point I guess I will be making it from scratch. Will not be buying again unless the recipe goes back to the original. It actually made what is normally my favorite breakfast WORSE by adding it, plain would have tasted better than whatever this is. The changes they made in the last couple years have totally ruined what used to be an amazing packet mix. If you wanted to offer a gluten-free, dairy-free, flavor-free, everything-free sauce, fine, but make it an option instead of a replacement. Hollandaise sauce should be rich and flavorful, not just a pale-yellow way to make your eggs or asparagus wet.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO THIS SAUCE MIX? I have used this product for over 30+ years , and was unable to find it after moving to a new area. I recently found it and was so excited to use it for a special Christmas breakfast. It was absolutely tasteless! I completely ruined our breakfast as we did not have in house what was needed to make the sauce from scratch. Shame on you for degrading such a great product, while increasing its price. This seems to be a trend in your company as I also tested several other Knoor products since. The store brands are better!
Will never use again. now it's gluten free and has different ingredients, and no longer calls for milk. Pale, thin, sometimes lumpy, and tasteless. They took a good thing and completely screwed it up, good Job Knorr.
Please, PLEASE! Go back to the old recipe. This experiment has run it's course. It is awful, thin, runny and tasteless. Knorr Hollandaise was once the best. Why did you ruin it? I can hardly believe ANYONE likes this better.
I've used this sauce for 20 years or more, so I didn't think anything of using it again tonight. Right off the bat it seemed thinner then when I tasted it, it was very lemony. This is not the product I've used for 20 or more years. Very disappointed.
The Gluten free version is awful: it has no lemon, weird off flavor (plastic) and is really runny. Looking at the ingredients, they removed more than just the Wheat flour, and added a bunch of other stuff like Palm oil and various "gums" For those who are gluten intolerant, do it the old fashioned way using eggs, butter salt and lime juice if you wan to have good tasting gluten free Hollandaise suace
Would give zero stars if I could. New recipe has no flavor and I will never buy Knorr Hollandaise again unless they change it back. "healthier" maybe but tasteless so what's the point when typically people only use Hollandaise occasionally. We are SO disappointed because it was our "go-to" sauce for our Sunday eggs benedict and now we'll have to make from scratch which we probably never will because it's too much trouble. Knorr, you RUINED our Sunday brunches! (Same with the Bernaise...now tasteless!)
