This unit is well engineered and well made . Very little movement when install installed so it's not a rattling mess. I love how it folds up and stores in any area of your house or garage or basement without taking up room. Also, if not in use stores in the bed of the truck without overhang in the bed or have to unbolt. Highly recommend

It was easy to install and made it very convenient to leave on your truck while you're out on the lake. It's one piece so they can't steal it (it locks). Easy to handle.

Have not traveled with it yet but seems to hold my 10 ft. kayak securely without having to remove my 5th wheel hitch from the truck bed. As others have said in their reviews, the box was in very bad shape with one end completely torn open however there were no missing parts. Instructions where not worth the paper they were printed on, so I had to review the pictures on the website to make sure I put it together correctly.

I just received it today. The top of the box was open but thankfully nothing was missing. With it folding like it does, it might as well be a assembled. The instructions were a joke, but looking at the photos of the same model on Amazon helped (7BLACKSMITHS) I like it so far but will update this review if I have problems. I'll add some more reflective tape and pool noodles for the kayak. I wish the flag was a different color (pink) and it came with a hitch pin.

I just received my tailgate extender and the box was pretty much destroyed but the contents were all there and intact. Assemble was easy but two holes were miss aligned and had to be drilled out so that a retaining pin could be installed. My vehicle has a 6.5 foot box and with the tail gate open it would accommodate 8 foot lumber or sheet rock alright. I wanted to extend the working area for larger pieces. The extender only gets me out to 10 feet so not a big difference but should be ok for 12 foot stock. The biggest complaint is the width of the rear bar. I had seen other ratings about this stating it would not handle sheet rock or plywood without damaging the edges and it is true. The stated 50.5 inches between the tiedowns turns out to be 47.5 . I will keep this for the rare occasions I need to carry longer pieces and grind off the hold downs to accommodate 4 foot units but for pennies more they could add the 2 .5 advertised.
