This is the BEST wedge! I can't say enough ....spend the money and get the high quality version that is 31 inches wide! Makes all the difference in the world, you don't feel like you are going to roll off ...and I have room to put pillows around it's allowing me to sleep the best I have in ages.
I am having an arm life then later shoulder surgery. I need to be sleeping in a more upright position and don't own a recliner. Even if I did I want to sleep in a bed. Here is why this works. The extra size covers your entire spine to your head. It matters. A smaller edge won't offer the comfort and support. Ignore the cost because it's worth every dime. The materials are luxury and I will be using this after surgery too for relaxing in bed watching TV. Yes, it's that nice. Soft, yet supportive. Full length to provide spine support. Way better than propping pillows. OH! A bonus is I am a side sleeper and this actually is comfy enough I don't have that constant desire to turn over! That in itself is worth the cost. Hip surgery? This is for you. Shoulders? Arms? And you can easily get out of bed!
I really like it. The quality looks good and is well constructed. Support is good and I'm sleeping good. I purchased it because I had eye surgery and I need to keep my head above my heart so for that purpose I am very glad I made the purchase but I just may keep using because of back issues and acid reflux.
I just had surgery for a total knee replacement. instead of elevating my leg on a pillow which moves a lot, I got this stationary leg elevation pillow. It is nice and firm, but not overly firm as the pillow is very comfortable. It is the perfect height to raise my leg to the same height as my nose as was recommended by the surgeon.
The package arrived in a timely manner. It was packaged properly. I am still trying to get used to it. I typically like lying flat when I sleep. I purchased it to help with my acid reflex. The price was reasonable and was within my budget. I hope this helps.
I recently had bypass surgery and needed something to prop me up like a hospital bed while I recovered. My daughter checked Walmart and found this large wedge pillow. It only has one set angle, but I just add extra pillows when I want it higher. This wedge really did the trick. It's firm, super supportive, and lets me sleep comfortably without sliding around. I set it at the top of the bed and it stays put. The zippered cover is a nice bonus and should make it easy to keep clean. Walmart's delivery was fast, which I appreciated. The wedge keeps my back and head raised just right and honestly made those first weeks so much easier. Now that I'm feeling better, I use it for watching TV and it works great for that too. The price was definitely a plus.
I had to find an alternative to my CPAP when a drug reaction caused tongue and throat swelling that won't go away. My sleep apnea was really causing issues for me so I thought I would try this wedge pillow. I am still getting used to it but I can tell I have a more restful sleep than without it. Many wedge pillows are higher but I wasn't sure I would be comfortable sleeping on them so I'm glad I found this one. While sleep apnea should be monitored by a health professional, this has helped greatly.
For me personally the 7.5 inch high 24' Kolb wedge pillow is better for my needs than the 12 ' high 24" Kolb pillow because the 12 inch high is too high for comfort for me. The support is great. My challenge is I have nerve pain all the time from disc bulges and the less I sit the better. I stand most of my waking hours so the 12 in high has me I'm sitting up too much which makes my nerve pain worse as it pinches each disk. The 7.5 inch high is less like a sitting position and more of a lying down position with very good back support. I have to have rotator cuff surgery and won't be able/ allowed to lie flat to sleep for weeks. I'm 5"4, 125 lbs so the 24inch width/depth is good for my height and weight as well as for my husband at 5'9" 155 weight.
The weather is supposed to be 7 1/2 inches tall but it's a little taller than what it says and the cover looks kind of dirty like it had been used before. The cover was kind of like an off-white where you would lay on it, but around the edges it was really white so that makes me think that it had been laid on before, but other than that it's good quality.
I was looking forward for this wedge but it disappointed me. The angel of the wedge was horrible. If your able to sleep with a regular pillow then it might work for you. I have neck problems and use a small pillow, than the standard size. I felt my neck was going to snap in half. It lack the 1/2 of the inch on top, weird angle!! It like they took a machete, and cut the 1/2 inch from the top to the middle of your back. Then from the middle of your back to your waist it's a regular triangle angle. I hope I made myself understood.
