[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The packaging was easy to open. Glad that it has a sealer to close it back up. The bugs didn't have a smell to it the bugs were moist and I never had my bearded dragon already dead bugs so he didn't go eat it right away because they weren't moving. However once I moved then he did start eating them. He loves the bugs there nutritious for them. These little packages are useful.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this 0.7 oz pack of Komodo Living Naturals Black Soldier Fly Larvae to test out as a new treat for my chickens, and it was an instant hit. The moment I scattered the larvae, the coop launched into a full on feeding frenzy. Flapping, pecking, and scrambling like they'd just discovered the ultimate prize. It was fun to watch and ready to use. No prep, no mess, just open the pouch and let the excitement unfold. Although it wasn't a large amount, it was enough to stir up some serious enthusiasm in the coop. I also like that this treat isn't limited to chickens. It's suitable for reptiles, birds, fish, turtles, and small animals, which makes it a versatile option if you've got a mixed crew at home. I'll definitely be keeping this in mind for future treat sessions. It's a simple way to add a little excitement and a lot of clucking.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The packaging is bright and nice love the colors. I like the sustainability of these larvae. The smell is not strong. The texture of them is better than expected. I would recommend these for any snack for your friend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So right before getting these, our turtle got loose. But I put them in my bird feeder and they were a hit! They grossed me right out, with the mushy wetness, the smell and just knowing what they are. But they have goof nutritional value and the birds seemed very happy to have them for dinner!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our almost 7 year old bearded dragon enjoyed these soldier fly larva. We did have to wiggle them around at first so he knew it was a delicious bug for him to eat. I was worried the package might have a smell, but there was nothing noticeable. The hard part was all the bugs were stuck together. I will definitely purchase these again.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My lizard enjoyed this tasty snack! Texture is rather thin and mushy. Good quick nutrient dense snack for my bearded dragon. Convenient small pack. 4 stars because I figured there would be more in a bag!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can't really rate this product accurately. Neither of my turtles would eat it. I will try again. But here's what I can say. I like the packaging, it is compact so it is easy to store. Once opened, you do have to refrigerate it. There isn't a smell, my oldest and youngest both smelled it and didn't say much and you can't smell it when you open the package. The larvae sink, which may be my turtles issue. They both eat floating food. I also tried with tweezers, but maybe if I had a little more time they would have ate it. My snapper acted like she wanted to. Also could have been because she was getting a tank cleaning so she was already in a mood. I would still recommend to try for your reptiles, it does appear like a great product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the idea of these because of the convenience but our gecko was not interested. She only seems to like “live” things and she didn't end up eating these. I gave the rest to my chickens who devoured them.
Incase you were looking for actual living insects. These are in fact dead .
