Konami Silent Hill HD Collection - PlayStation 3

First and foremost -- Yes, this still installs just fine in 2025 without any issues, and all available dlc for this title is included on the disc. Both stories are like a novel you can't put down. The story of Silent Hill 2 is one about loss, grief, and a painful journey through the main character's psyche. Unlike modern games: this isn't open world, but rather fixed camera angles that add a cinematic experience. Bosses and puzzles each have a separate difficulty level you can adjust in the beginning of each scenario you choose. There are also multiple endings to discover. It's a remaster of a PS2 classic so tanklike controls are intact: unlike the PS5 remake. The story in Silent Hill 3 is about self discovery, and is a direct sequel to the original PSone game Silent Hill. Like Silent Hill 2: this features two separate difficulties, and multiple endings. Over all I'd give the Konami Silent Hill Collection a 4.5 out of 5. If you own a PS3, and don't have this in your collection, and are a fan of survival horror -- get it while you still can.

After playing Silent Hill 2 Remake I really wanted to play the original. After finding out the original game on the PS2 exceeds $100 even sometimes in the $1000 range it was a hard pass as you wouldn't be giving any of that money to the developer but a scalper. I opted to get the HD collection because aside from it's many flaws it's the most affordable way to play the older games and the issues detailed online while some are bad at the end of the day you still get to enjoy these games and not have to take a small loan out to enjoy them. Silent Hill 1 can also be purchased for $6 on the Playstation 3 PSN store so just be mindful of that before you go out and buy the expensive PSX copy. I highly recommend the HD collection if your itching for some classic Silent Hill gaming I really don't think the experience has been ruined for me just need to set your expectations properly before enjoying these older games.

I thought the game would arrive in used condition based on the price. The price was cheaper than everywhere else. It arrived brand new sealed! Awesome.

This has a big history of being a terrible port, but the patch that's available if connected to the internet does fix a lot of issues. Only had one crash with Silent Hill 2. If you can't play the Enhanced Editions on PC, or the originals on PS2, this is your best option! Note that the Xbox 360 version of this collection is more broken and wasn't fully patched.
