Customer Insights: Rated 4.1/5 from 251 reviews.
I read reviews of many other rain barrels and this one consistently rated excellent. Reviews suggested ways to install with pictures. I loved what I saw. My husband installed it with a new copper rain chain and he made a copper trellis to go behind it. Everything looks fabulous together and now I will have rain water to mix vermi tea spray for our plants. We plan to put pebbles on the top and a screen beneath the top to keep mosquitos out.
Although this rain barrel is very nice looking for the front of the house, the best part is the well thought out functional details. It sits on sturdy legs rather than a flimsy platform. The spigot is positioned just high enough to fill a watering can but not so high that the barrel needs to be half full to use it. The drain plug is easily accessed on one of the legs. And the overflow diverter is at the back of the barrel so you can attach a hose to direct the overflow if you like. The top is screened but not closed so it is ideal for open collection. Collect water from a diverted downspout, collect roof runoff or just put it out in the garden to collect rain.
i Like the overflow, but wish it had a threaded connection. The brass faucet is definitely a plus. I can attach a hose or empty the rain barrel into a bucket. Even if I never used it for a rain barrel, it would have been worth the price for an accent piece. I have it on my front porch that has no roof. I put it in the one spot that seems to be most effected by water. No downspout attached, just catches the natural flow from the pitch of the roof.
I just love my rain Barrel!! I have yet to install it but I know it's going to be perfect for my garden.
This rain barrel is awesome, big enough for lots of flower/tree watering. Has a plastic catcher so lots of leaves and debris doesn't get inside to block the spigot. My only complaint is that the flow from the spigot is quite slow, but I just put my watering can under it and leave it to fill then do other gardening. It's very lightweight and easy to install and empty in the fall.
I understand the impression that it connected to the downspout differently but it really does hold the water pretty well
It seems the company who ships these rain barrels do not take pride in their work. With just a few adjustments, these could be great. they are shipped in plastic bags, no carton. Out of the three rain barrels that have arrived, each one has had an issue all due to not being protected in shipping. One was missing the top grate. We sent that one back. One had the faucet end broken off, and the third barrel had the faucet handle broken off. Common sense says that the manufacturer or dealer should be able to ship replacements. But the customer has to ship the entire rain barrel back, then wait for it to be received in Texas. Then, wait 5 to 9 business days before a replacement is shipped out. I just hope that when we get rain again, they do not leak, like some reviewers have mentioned. These really could be a great product with a bit of diligence.
like that but the spout was broken when it got there
These barrels filled up very quickly and overflowed on the first use. I bought two of these to put on my patio to minimize pooling of water there. Figuring out a way to divert water away from it is a challenge. I was able to place one just off the patio in a bed of river rocks. I attached a garden hose to the bottom plug then dug a trench deep enough to lay the hose in so the water would flow out of the barrel and (hopefully) away from the patio. Then I put a washing machine hose on the overflow, added and a length of PVC pipe to it, and dug a trench for it. We haven't had any rain since I added the hoses, so I don't know if that issue was resolved! The second is presenting more of a problem...it has to sit on the patio, which is slightly lower than the ground. I may have to put the barrel up on some blocks so it will drain, and probably have to buy a downspout adaptor to re-position the barrel so the water drains away from the patio. Still a work in progress with that one. Lastly, the actual color is more of a yellowish gold (brown mustard) than the muddy brown color pictured. Would not have purchased if I had seen it in person first, but was not going try and send them back.
Installed end of 2024, have not used it for one season. It already has a crack at the bottom and all the water leaks out. Will try to return, not sure what the warranty is.
