These headphones are light and comfortable, and they sound great, like low-end professional headphones costing much more. Their semi-open ear design lets ambient sound in, so you will hear if someone speaks to you or if there are sounds in your environment that you need to be aware of, and eliminates the "canned" sound of many over ear headphones, while their over-the-ear configuration holds in bass sounds, enhancing fidelity. And the titanium-coated diaphragms produce crisp, clear, natural highs. They are everything the advertising says they are. At this low price you really can't go wrong with the Koss UR40 headphones.
I love these! They are lightweight and provide good, crisp sounds while still allowing my ears to breathe.
I had a pair of these headphones (the cord shorted out after 2 years of use) that I used every day. They are lift weight, have a mesh fabric in the headband to allow your head to breathe and not muss up your hair. The bass is deep that delivers a nice 'punch' to the ears, and the treble is clean and high (I hear notes using these headphones that I don't hear on my Home system, unless the room is very quiet..I live in the city with lots of ambient noise) also they allow your ears to breathe and allow you to hear the sounds around you. I had bought the 'other' Koss headphones that cost about $90 and boy was I disappointed with the sound so I promptly returned them to WalMart, and have ordered 2 pairs of the UR-40's. These are a must buy, and they work great with the iPod and other MP3 players. Frequency response is 15 to 25K, and you hear every note.
I required some decent OPEN BACK headphones. For $ 28.00 the best option available. Not a lot of bass.
Very lightweight and comfortable. The semi-open design places the music into a 3-dimensional position around your environment...providing true surround sound.
These headphones are excellent. No complaints whatsoever. I use them to mix my Caustic tracks before and after they're transferred into my DAW. These are my first pair of open back headphones so I don't have any other comparisons but I've been producing music for years and these Ur40's definitely earn my respect. Highly recommended.
Fantastically comfortable! The sound is nearly as good as my beats, but these are so much more comfortable. Not so much for noise blocking, but that can be nice too.
I bought these as a result of another shopper recommendation, and the shopper was right. These are light, good sound quality for iTunes or DVD (for my ears), ideal set for flying commercial (light and fold compactly). Only a four foot cord (non-replaceable), so don't work well if you use a tower PC or Mac on the floor and want to stand up with them in place. Every other use, they'll be appreciated. I like them.
i used all the time Sennheiser but this time i wanted to try something else. It is a good sound and you have good beats. It's between 15 Hz and 22 KHz. The weight is very light and very comfortable. the soundproofing is not bad but i used it in the plane and it was ok to hear music or movies the hinge tears out hairs sometimes.
The good: Yup it's fantastic for being lightweight and easy on the ears. Wish all were this great in that regard. Earphones have good sound for Zoom or Skype calls (however everyone else in the room can hear the other person) The bad 1. I can't keep the earphones because anyone else in the room is also hearing what I'm listen to- (some say it's faint- I disagree, it's loud enough to be quite annoying) 2. I don't think music sound quality is good. Others said this is good for classical music. I disagree.
