I enjoy the fat-free cheddar and is normally in stock at my local Walmart. I also greatly enjoy the fat free mozzarella by the same brand. That is much more problematic to find in stock. My solution is when I do find it in stock is to buy several and freeze them. While this is not ideal, it prevents a trip to another local retailer.
I was pleased to find this cheese will melt as often no fat processed cheese will not. Texture is a bit off but doesn't make the cheese experience bad, just different.
The only thing I dislike about this cheese is the cost it is more expensive to eat healthier. I love to sprinkle on toast for grilled cheeses. Even though it is fat free it is still high in calcium. Works great for tacos and burritos.
These fat free shreds work fine in most dishes, However the cheese taste is weak %26 not strong on flavor: But I do appreciate seeing more companies trying to bring healthier options to market: Wish they would make a strong cheddar slices fat free
I'm sure this would be good for a grilled cheese sandwich but I use Kraft slices instead. this is what I put in my scrambled eggs and it is delicious.
It tastes good and melts pretty well. A good cold topping for tacos %26 good for blending in omelets. Don't expect the same performance as full-fat cheese. Excellent substitute for people who can't have fat. It's awfully expensive though. Can be found cheaper at Albertsons.
I use a lot of cheese and find this is an excellent solution to the excess calorie and fat problem. It has a nice natural taste, melts as it should. It is generally hard to find so I always buy it when I see it, though it seems a bit expensive. It is worth it to me.
It's fat free cheese. It's not as good as fatty cheese but it's not bad either! It actually melts! The texture is a little more rubbery than a a full fat cheddar but it's not very noticeable. It tastes good too.
Kraft's fat free cheese is good for salads in its solid, refrigerated form. The cheese, when melted, is gooey and unpleasantly stringy and not a solid nor a liquid. It can be browned with odd cooking times, which may turn the cheese into a burnt texture. Before it's best by date, the cheese gained an off-putting taste. The cheese does not separate well when it clumps.
I thought I'd try this because I love cheese but need to be on a low-fat diet. Without dumping my trauma in a review, I'll just say don't get it. If someone put this on food and gave that food to me, I'd think they hated me. It doesn't melt well. It tastes weird. The texture is off. I think at least a little fat is necessary in cheese for it to be somewhat acceptable to consume.
