I've tried other brands in the past but none of them seem to compare with Kraft. It was the only brand we ate as children. Now its the only brand I buy for our house. The taste is cheesy and creamy and everyone here loves it. Great on burgers, patty melts, or for when you just want to make a grilled cheese sandwich. We also dice it and use it on salads. Always good and good for you too.
Money is tight right now , Buying Kraft American Slices at Walmart is a Less Expensive Alternative. The kids are out of school and these go like crazy there are grilled cheese sandwiches , turkey and cheese roll ups, burgers on the grill . and a fast grab and go healthy snack. Remember to get a few packs not just one on your next Walmart trip !
This is a classic fridge essential—simple, reliable, and designed for that smooth melt you get in burgers, grilled cheese, and breakfast sandwiches. Pros: Perfect Melt Every Time • Designed to melt evenly on burgers and sandwiches • Smooth, creamy texture when heated • Great for grilled cheese and cheeseburgers Convenient Individually Wrapped Slices • 16 slices per pack for easy portioning • No sticking or mess in the fridge • Quick grab-and-use for meals and snacks Consistent Classic Taste • Mild American cheese flavor everyone recognizes • Works well with many foods (burgers, fries, eggs) • Reliable brand found in most grocery stores Cons: Highly Processed Cheese Product • Not traditional natural cheese • Contains additives and emulsifiers for texture and melt • Some people prefer real cheese slices instead Higher Sodium Content • Can be salty compared to natural cheeses • Not ideal for low-sodium diets • Easy to overconsume in sandwiches Lower Nutritional Density • More of a processed convenience food • Not as protein-rich as real cheese • Best used in moderation Summary: Delivers consistent melt and familiar flavor. It’s not gourmet cheese, but it’s one of the most practical options for everyday cooking. Best for: Burgers %26 grilled cheese Quick sandwiches and snacks Families needing easy, consistent ingredients
Like most things in the hard economic times things cost far too much. I don't fault the manufacturers or companies that sell things. The product is good. You decide whether to buy or not.
These American single slices are so popular and excellent in quality and taste, especially for cheese burgers or grilled cheese sandwiches, that I cannot critize a thing about them. The price cannot be beat. Yet, I think my preference would be to use a nice thick slice of cheddar for my burger or grilled cheese, especially since the single slice American cheese disappears on the bun so you get little cheese left to enjoy. Yes, you pay more for a thick slice of cheddar. I say choose both the American singles and the thickly cut cheddar to pick and choose what you want for your meal. It changes things up a bit for variety. Of course, either one goes with wraps, burritos, eggs, and on and on.
Love the cheese product, however, over the last several years I have become unhappy with the plastic wrap that is around the individual slices. At least 80% of the time, the plastic wrap splits and makes it difficult to get the cheese out. In fact, there are times where I choose a different product because I am just not in the mood to deal with it.
These I've used mostly for cheeseburgers, and occasionally grilled cheese sandwiches or patty melts. But this cheese doesn't melt quite as good as Velveta and has a slightly more fake taste and texture.
I'm disabled and driver put by front door and not at ramp so could push button for me to let in. I had to have neighbor carry water from front to my apt. Very disappointed they can't sit where it should go. The front door even says no delivers. This is 2nd time this has happened. These delivery drivers need to realize we order because we can't carry or shop because of disability
Tastes nasty , when melted has like a weird powder like texture hard to explain. Never have had problems with this brand. No its not expired either
The FDA has a sliding scale of definitions based on how much "real cheese" is actually in a package. Kraft Singles American Slices are a Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product as stated on the label. While still containing real cheese, Kraft Singles contain less than 51% due to higher levels of moisture and additives, so legally cannot be labeled as simply "cheese." I don't like them, but one person in this house insists on eating Kraft Singles American Slices on home-made burgers and sandwiches. I reluctantly buy them - I have learned to pick my battles.
