First time trying this and it absolutely blew my doors off! I'm hooked for life! This stuff is very strong, you only need a tiny amount. (I've seen negative reviews and I believe they may have used it like peanut butter or jelly, which is way too much, the amount I used was less than the amount of butter I place on toast.) I made the famed "Vegemite Sandwhich", this was definitely a unique flavor that I cannot say I've ever experienced anything remotely close to before but I plan to enjoy regularly.

I am from New Zealand so Im very used to this product and I know what it taste like. I find it funny when Americans want to try it and are disgusted by it LOL it is a yeast product, it is extremely salty, it is to be used extremely sparingly, if you use it correctly its a pretty awesome condiment to go on buttered toast, grilled cheese sandwiches etc. If youre adventurous and you like new things I highly recommend it.
I haven't tried it yet. But I have a good friend that is from Australia who has told me how to use Vegemite and this should be really good. I've seen it used on cooking shows. So I'm trying it on buttered toast with a little on top, until I get used to the taste. This is the best way to get used to it, slowly so the taste is easier to get used to.
First know that it is a yeast extract. It has an almost "gagging" taste when eaten without any other food. Needs to be mix in with something, like butter for toast, smoothies,or anything that reduces bitter taste. Healthy. Will buy again. PS, start with small amount.
I spent six years teaching in Papua/New Guinea just north of Australia. Vegemite is very popular there. I grew to like it well. It has a strong flavor, neither sweet, sour, nor salty, but you are advised to spread it thinly until you get familiar with it.
Its vegemite...how can you go wrong. A little pricey but hey...I guess in America it would be imported spread. Arrived packed well and in good condition with over a year remaining on expiration date and sealed with nutritional labeling.
Am an Aussie living in the US that misses my food. A bit expensive but worth it so I can have my Vege. I also brought up my American born kids on it and they love it. Thanks for selling it and making it easily accessable
Different. Tried just to see what it was like since I'd heard of the notorious Vegemite sandwich and was surprised to see it available on walmart.com. Very salty but good in a weird way. Goes on very thin not like PB or Nutella because it's nothing like either.
Vegemite is great stuff and a little goes a long way, such that a jar normally lasts 9 months to a year. Vegemite typically has a shelf life of a couple years. Steer clear of this seller who gives you a jar with about 3 months left before expiry date, and effectively dumps their outdated inventory on you.
I tried it for the first and didn't like the flavor. The product is good, it is just my personal taste
