beyond compare

Moragnrudy April 21, 2020

Perfect for over sized artisan breads. The unique serrated edge will easily pierce through the toughest exterior while protecting the soft interior. No squishing!! Super sharp, durable and beautiful blade. The handle is exquisite and comfortable to hold. Great slicing blade.

Beutifully designed Kramer 10" Bread Knife. The handle shape of Meiji collections fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. The quality shows through with it having 100 layers of FC61 stainless steel. This knife slices so smoothly and beutifully made in Japan.

I love this bread knife. It has the number 1 feature I like - varied lengths of the scallop edges. Its number 2 feature, is my second favorite, it is ten inches long. Great for a sourdough boule. A huge heirloom tomato. Incredibly beautiful as well as beautifully made.

Great Japanese bread knife

Niner2015 April 18, 2020

This is a really unique bread knife. The handle shape really fits perfectly in the palm of my hand, a shape that I've never seen in another knife collection outside of the Meiji. With it having 100 layers of FC61 stainless steel, this knife slices so smoothly and beautifully. It looks great and is a solid Japanese knife.

Beast of a Bread Knife

bourbonbb May 10, 2020

This 10" bread knife is a beast of a knife! No matter the size of bread loaf or watermelon, it can tackle the job with ease. It is made from incredibly durable FC61 steel which is very chip resistant. The 100 layer damascus is simply beautiful. The red wood handle has a unique shape that fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. Bob Kramer's keen knife knowledge is clearly displayed in the design, construction and quality of this knife.

An absolute necessity in any kitchen, any although titled as a ‘bread' knife, there are far more possibilities behind this serrated knife. Not to mention, a great piece, at a great value to add to your collection. It's was created to be ambidextrous, and exceeds expectations with quality and design. You'll fall in love after becoming acquainted with Kramer's Meiji bread knife, then want to add the whole collection.

Most beautiful serrated edge!

HomeCook5 May 14, 2020

This knife was designed by master knife smith Bob Kramer and he created a work of art with this serrated edge. The core is made from FC61 steel which ranks at the top of most steels on the hardness scale assuring you that the edge will be razor sharp for several lifetimes. Because of the patented ice hardening process you can be sure this knife is chip and crack resistant. There is a full tang of steel running through the handle providing the knife with added stability and perfectly balanced weight in your hand. The serrated edge, aside from being a work of art, is designed so that longer spikes first puncture the harder crust and then the full serration continues through the softer inside without crushing it.

It doesn't get any better than a Bob Kramer knife - especially the Meiji series. He is the master of bladesmiths and has been a true artisan in the knife world. To own one is to understand the sheer beauty and quality of how these are made, then loved and used in the kitchen. I love the mirrored Damascus blade and the wooden handle with the Kramer made pin. This really sets it apart from other well-known knives. The serrated bread knife will cut through those full loaves, sweet breads, rolls, and biscuits or tomatoes and citrus, too.

I love the Meiji Kramer by Zwilling line. It is not many places that you can buy one of Master Bladesmith, Bob Kramer's knives, that do not cost in the five figure range. We are one of those places! We partnered with Bob to bring his exacting eye for quality and uniqueness, to the home cook. This knife is super sharp and very durable due to the FC61 steel used and the double ice-hardening process. I personally love the pakkawood handle and the shape fits nicely in my hand. He designed the handle to be comfortable for right-handers and for left-handers and it is gorgeous. This is a special gift to yourself or one of you knife aficionado friends.

A Nice Addition to My Collection

Cooking Mommy April 7, 2020

I started off with the Meiji 8" chef which is my go to kitchen knife so it was a natural next step to order the bread knife. I use this "bread" knife for everything. It does a beautiful job of carving down melons. Works great on eggplants and of course can get through any delicate crust, with out damaging the crumb, perfectly. And I love the handle!
