The only place I could find oil cured olives was in a Winn Dixie but that store closed. So glad I found these online through Walmart. They are bigger bottles than the ones I was buying so the price was worth it. Shipping was a little slow but it was free so it was worth the wait. Delicious in salads or with some cheese and nuts for a quick healthy snack. So good!
I love oil cured olives. I was thrilled to find them at a reasonable price through Walmart. They do not disappoint. I received them through delivery and was impressed that they were protected from opening by being securely sealed with tape.
I love these olives. Finding them has become difficult so I was very happy to find I can order them here.
delicious i will purchase more
Great taste, just don't like the pits.
If comparing black olives, it's important to know that these still contain pits. So it's not accurate to compare the price per ounce to a jar of pitted olives. Also, it means that if your plan is to use these to make a lovely tapenade spread, or add to a salad, or even use as an appetizer, first you may need to pit them. The taste is a little more tart/ bitter than Kalamata olives. That may be due to the label shows it is a product of Morocco. In contrast, a jar of Kalamata olives in my kitchen shows product of Greece.
These are cured olives I don't eat them without putting into something as they are very salty and there is no brine included with them. They are like prunes kind of there not big or small and they have pits. They need to be eaten with something imo. I do like them I put them into a olive mix other olives I bought from amazon that come with brine I add them to the olive mix and let sit for awhile that helps with the a strong and salty flavor. Also can add them to spaghetti sauce for a nice rich flavor. I would perfer if they came with some brine.
Ingredients are not as simple as advertised "olives, salt, olive oil." My primary reason for purchasing was clean ingredients. This contains synthetic preservative potassium sorbate. Further, the texture of these olives ends up with a waxy mouthfeel due to the need to refrigerate after opening, making any oil solidify. They are pretty salty (which would have been fine as a preservative!) and they're not pitted, so any salad uses demand further preparation. They're novel, but not worth a spot on the shelf.
These olives have a very unique taste. They also have pits. The description says that they are oil cured and there might be a slight coating of oil on the olives. After tasting just 1 olive I decided to stop eating them. There is no safety seal on the lid to prevent tampering. There's not even suction when you open them for the first time. As far as I know, the unique taste that the olives have might not even supposed to be there. There is absolutely no way to tell if the jar has been pampered with or not. Morocco is a long way for these olives to travel without any sort of protection against tampering especially with so many people wanting to kill Americans theses days. I would definitely not risk buying this product. How hard is it to vacuum seal a jar and if it was vacuum sealed. It definitely wasn't when I received it. It doesn't have a pop-up button top either or plastic wrapped lid. Just a jar with a hand tight lid. They can't possibly stay fresh very long this way.
