Great alternative to Tamiya or Testors

DanvilleHobbyist March 2, 2014

Great adhesion and fine spray. I used it without a primer on plastic model car. It allows sanding and finishes very well.

Super

jacelli February 15, 2014

This paint exceeded my expectations with regard to how well it covered and did not run. My hard plastic car part looked like it was painted by a professional paint shop.

excellent quality paint

powderburns August 15, 2016

I have a set of steel rims on my truck that I painted with Krylon Fusion 2 years ago. I prepped the surfaces by sandblasting, degreasing, rinsing off with water and air drying. Applied a coat of paint every fifteen minutes until I had 4 coats dried, then finished them with a can of Krylon matte clearcoat. After two years of street and off-road driving the rims still look like they were professionally done with no chips or scratches in the paint. I also did a camoflauge finish on an AR-15 with the same results. My prep for the plastics and aluminum parts on the rifle consisted of degreaser and water to rinse off. Can't say enough good things about this paint.

Prep plastics correctly and it works awesome

jpdraven May 5, 2016

Painting plastics is all in the prep work. If you prep your plastics right this paint is very durable. If you don;t prep right then it's not nearly as durable. A light sanding, and by light I mean just roughing the surface MINORLY with an extremely fine sandpaper light 2500 and then a quick 3500 grit is all you need. The sanding scuffs the painting surface just enough to allow the paint to have grooves, valleys, and pits, to lock on to. THAT'S THE KEY. Wash surfaces with soap and water. Dry thoroughly. Paint! DONE. Do that, use this paint and you'll love it. Look at the pics of the GI-JOE toy style Transformers Jets I made using Krylon Fusion Paints. Speaks for itself.

Krylon Fusion for Plastic House Shutters

NCHandywoman April 7, 2016

It's been a year and a half since I used Krylon Fusion in Satin Burgundy for my house shutters. Originally they were Hunter Green and were very faded since they face the sun continuously. I followed the directions and I could not believe the transformation of my house! I got lots of positive responses, but some people wondered if the spray paint would hold up. I have nothing but praise for this product. There isn't any chipping, flaking or fading. I am so happy with the results and would recommend it to everyone!

Nice paint.

dmh2000 April 16, 2017

Went on smooth. I painted some ivory Heath-Zenith dimmers in the media room to match the new gray wall outlets and switches. KRYLON: Please update your color swatches so when you hover over them you get the name or put the name under your swatches. It is very confusing trying to get the name, also you seem to not have a dark gray in FUSION FOR PLASTIC.

Awesome paint for plastics!!!

Jpdst29 November 3, 2017

I used this paint to bring back some life to my fender flares, mud guards, and other bits of plastic on my F450 truck. As with anything prep is very important. Even though it states "no prep" just to be safe I prepped everything anyways and the results were great. I removed all the parts from the vehicle and cleaned them with an ammonia based cleaner (windex) I then took a fine grit sanding sponge and quickly sanded all the parts. I then tack ragged the parts off to remove any fine dust. If you have an air compressor you can use that as well to blow the dust off first and then tag rag off any remaining dust. Finally I sprayed the parts with 3-4 thin coats of the krylon fusion paint. I used satin black. I did this about 2 years ago and the color today looks exactly the same as it did 2 years ago. This was through 2 hot summers and 2 freezing cold winters. If you want more protection I guess you could add a clear coat over top but I chose not to.

Cabinet refresh

DiyOrDie September 3, 2016

I used the krylon Fusion paint in satin white to paint over my yellowed melamine cabinet doors in my bathroom. The paint went on evenly, with little effort, and has a great satin, durable finish. My 3 and 5 year old are constantly putting the finish to the test-- it's been a year and still holding strong! I achieved an even coverage with all 6 pieces in 2 coats. I highly recommend this product. I'm currently removing the thermofoil covering off my kitChen doors and painting the underlying MDF with colormaster primer then paint.

Krylon Fusion Paint in Red Pepper

I used this paint to paint over my old white plastic chairs. since it is a primer and paint in one, it made the job very easy. Love the color!
