Be sure to purchase enough for the project you are doing and make sure that all cans come from the same batch number. I purchased a case and didn't have enough so I purchased another case to finish. Not the same batch number and didn't match. Now I have to purchase two cases with same batch number and repaint. You would think that primer would match no matter what batch number.
I bought this product thinking it would be a good to touch up rusted metal on wheel wells of an old car. After shaking the can for 5 minutes, the rattle of the ball inside the can could not be heard. When I tried to spray, the can sprayed a clear-ish base for a split second before becoming jammed immediately (with gummy zinc particles). I removed the nozzle and sure enough: both the valve stem and nozzle itself were jammed with large gummy zinc, which i removed gently with a toothpick. After cleaning with a toothpick, I could get a quick, spattery, 1-2 sec spray before it was instantly gummed up again with zinc. I repeated this process for about a half hour, spray for 1-2 sec, clean the clogged zinc. No amount of shaking the can would mix the zinc with the base. After awhile the can was spattering and over-flowing at the base of the nozzle, dripping everywhere. I would set the can down and it would start spraying by itself intermittently because the nozzle was so gummed in place it was stuck in a depressed position. Total waste of time and money. Luckily I didn't care about the aesthetics of the beater car I was painting, if I did I would be more angry than I already am. This sputtering, expensive, unreliable can was a nightmare.
This paint was absolutely worthless. I followed all the prep instructions on a bare steel surface. I cleaned, sanded, cleaned again, then painted. I could literally scrape this off with my fingernail over 72 hours later. This stuff was easier to peel off than plasti-dip.
