Kuranda Orthopedic Chewproof Elevated Dog Bed - Indoor - Walnut PVC Frame

I am kennel training a medium-sized puppy (40 pounds) who nervously chews when he is alone. I bought this so he could have a comfy, cool bed that he couldn't chew through when left alone. It took him less than one week to get through it, and it's supposedly rated for dogs up to 100 pounds. Horrible build quality and I thought that even when I was putting it together. Do not buy.

Giving an accurate rating on this product is challenging. I will start with the pros, then the cons. Pros: -once assembled, it's sturdy and durable -it's definitely chew-proof -XL comfortably accommodates and supports a 90lbs dog -it's a good value for the price, especially compared to other beds Cons -there's tedious, albeit easy, assembly required -some of the metal pipes have sharp edges (which are all covered after assembly) -the directions and supplies in the box didn't exactly match -probably only applicable to my purchase, there was a small manufacturer's default with one of the pipes, which prevented me from getting one of the screws through. I would have given a 5-star rating if the instructions and supplies in the box matched the product. Further, there was a small manufacturer's defect that I was (luckily) able to work around, but it was super annoying to discover.

Usually my Dog beds look beat, dirty and the dog chews them up. This bed is easy to clean. There are no more evenings spent picking up mountains of foam because the dog got bored and ate her bed and bonus She seems to like it more that any of the others . WIN WIN WIN

Purchased fro my local animal shelter. They rave about Kuranda beds. I only wish sometimes they would have a sale since I donate 6 or so a year and they are pricey, but they do last and are great for the shelter.

I bought one of these a while back for my daughter's dogs and they loved it so I recently got another one for my own dog. Easy to assemble and sturdy.

Having bought at least 5 $25 beds which were chewed within a week, this was an investment that really paid off. Keeps the dogs cool too.

The directions are on the back of the order form. They didn't go together as well as I would have liked.
