Kwikset Halo Touchscreen Wi-Fi Smart Deadbolt Hardware Lock with Smartkey Matte Black

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this lock, it took about 30 min to install and was SUPER EASY! You can use the standard key or the keypad to open/close. It gives you the option to open/close with your phone via the app and also gives you notification every time the lock is opened/closed. You can assign different codes to different family members and you also have a log when it is used. You can also restrict times that the lock can be accessed which is an added security benefit. I am just amazed at how much technology has come to help us in life. Not sure if you locked the door, open your app and check and then lock if needed. Need to let someone inside in event of emergency, open app and unlock. PERFECT!

I purchased 3 of these locks for my home and they have worked great. It is nice that I can check and see if the locks have been locked. If not they can be locked remotely with the app. I have one lock set to lock automatically 2 minutes after being unlocked. I do have an issue with the plastic battery covers. The tabs that hold the covers on have broken on 2 of the locks so I have them taped on. I would be happy to purchase replacements but I can't find replacements anywhere. There is a 65198 number molded in the plastic but I can't find any replacements. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never tried one of these Touchscreen Smart Locks, so I was pretty excited to get this one! First thought after opening the box is that it's a nice size and sharp looking! I couldn't wait to get it on our door. My husband and I spent some time looking over the instructions and getting it installed. It wasn't super difficult but took some time. But it looks great! The app was easy to find and download. I like that it walks you through everything. As someone who tends to loose their keys, I was pretty excited to have a key pad. We set up our code and it works perfectly! The only issue I have run into so far is the wifi side of things. I think that has to do with the speed of our wifi though. It tends to be slower when we are in certain rooms. But when my signal is strong it works perfectly! We have lots of doors in our home and I would absolutely replace all the locks with one of these! It's awesome and so nice if you have lots of people coming in and out. No need for extra keys... just give them the code! I would definitely recommend getting one (or multiples) of these awesome Smart Locks!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my daughter's house to make it easier for the kids to get in and we don't have to worry about them losing the key. It was easy to install and the program was easy to download on the phone and use. She had no problems assigning codes for the lock. She gets alerts to her phone letting her know when and who has entered her house. It also let's her know when the lock has been manually locked/unlocked. Also, we were able to re-key this lock to work with her front door key since they are kwikset. This lock has other features we haven't tried out yet. She is having windows installed and is able to give a code to the installer so that they can enter and leave without her home. It will let her know when they arrive/leave and she can delete the code to never be used after that day. This Smart Lock is a very nice addition to her new house.

Less than two years old but screen is already cracking. Probably due to Texas heat. Battery life is short like some users have mentioned. Otherwise pretty good

We have two of these. Battery life is very bad on both. Even when the lock hasn't been used, the batteries are low within two months. Today one of the locks is no longer getting power. I changed the batteries and it gives an error, that it can not connect to Bluetooth. It appears the unit is not getting power.

Haven't had this lock too long but the screen has been slowly cracking for a while. Assume it does not take the sun well. All the other functions work as expected. But screen reliability is not good.

Had it for about a 2 years and the screen has cracked like a windshield in cold weather. Normal use nothing extreme and live in VA so no extreme outdoor temperature…just poorly made. Now we can't see the numbers on the screen to even use it so have to throw it away.

Absolutely awful! This lock came with the purchase of our new home and will not work properly. Sure, we can use the key, and we're able to use the keypad, but any smart functionality is useless. It won't connect to bluetooth, won't connect to wifi, or the app. It has been replaced once already due to this issue. We've tried bluetooth resets, wifi resets, factiry resets, new batteries, YouTube videos, Kwikset tutorials, nothing works. It may be user error, but every smart appliance we own, smart dimmers, smart tv's, smart switches, smart doorbell, and everything connected through Apple Homekit, works flawlessly. Pretty sure it's not me. Stay away from this product!!!!

Falls short of expectations. I bought for an airbnb, the cheaper brands do a better job at this they just don't have wifi. This had the potential to be very good but the way they have it set up, it is crap. You cant easily add user keypads, they make you put in emails for every user. It is absurd. And they need a protective sun cover for them that is not avaliable. In sun exposure it will not last long. Overall this is an overpriced limited option. Horrible for airbnb situation.
