I have seven Kwikset 620 locks with Z-Wave. They are working flawlessly with Home Assistant automation hub. The four AA batteries last about nine months of daily use. Easy to program, easy to use.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful lock paired easily to my ring. I could find the auto lock feature, as no code info in the installation manuel. I called and got help in minutes. They probably should put the complete user guide in the box. But either way I was up and running in no time!
I bought this a few weeks ago. I'm using the lock with Home Assistant and a Aeotec Zstick7. Works great!
Bought 7 of these about 18 months ago. One of battery trays is very finicky, but manageable. The worst part about these is no firmware updates to fix issues with the ZWave communications. Once a week or so we have to go pull the batteries to reset the devices. When the locks start misbehaving our entire Zwave network becomes unstable--after power cycling them the network is fine...
I have several Kwikset locks and use them through Smartthings. I expected this new lock to be as good or better than the others but won't pair via the QR, won't pair by scanning nearby, and the lock is NOT listed in SmartThings list of Kwikset locks to pair manually. I have purchased this and traveled international to install it and it does not work. So disappointed. Save yourself the aggravation and buy an older Kwikset 914 or 916 lock that actually works well with Smartthings!
I don't have any Z-Wave powered hubs, so am not able to actually use the smart features. I tried installing a Raspberry Pi hub, but it was way too difficult. Because it's battery powered with no internet connection, it's run out of batteries multiple times where I couldn't get back in or I left the door unlocked inadvertently. The instructions were pretty poor - I had to find videos on YouTube and look through the FAQs to understand how to do basic things like remove an access code. Worst of all, the security is poor: anyone who has been inside your house can add their own code and enter your house later. Don't host parties or have an open house with this smart lock!
The button on the keypad fell off and it will not stay on, have tried numerous times to put it back on and it keeps falling off.
So frustrated by this. I bought and installed this because it says it works with Ring. That's a lie. Ring will lock and unlock it but none of the integration functions work like modes, history, turn off alarm etc.
