Ive owned this phone for about 8 months and it's a great upgrade from the old Duraforce. I can usually get about a day out of a single charge, 2 days if I'm not using it as much. A big plus is the battery seems unaffected by the cold, when I go skiing I can keep it in an exterior pocket and not with about it. The thumb print scanner works shockingly well and the cameras are very good. The wide angle lense is a great touch. I've had no problems with durability or seals wearing out/breaking, both of which were problems on my Galaxy Active. The speaker is very loud and works great for music and speaker phone, however I will say when your playing music at full volume you will notice a bit of a tiny sound . As far as negative aspects for this phone go, the back and front edges do show some signs of scratching but do not affect overall use of phone, also sometimes my texting gets INSANELY laggy, but this can usually be fixed by closing the app and opening it again. Overall I absolutely love the phone.
My DuraForce PRO sat at the bottom of <40 degree raging river for 9.5 hours. We came back that night with a flashlight so we could actually see. Sure enough, there she sat. As soon as it exited the river it began vibrating with all my notifications pouring in. Push the button, BOOM, my phone was just like I left it and even a little cleaner! ;) It had also tracked all my missed calls while it sat at the bottom of the river. At half the cost of my previous Samsung Actives with the same, if not better in some aspects, specs along with way better performance I will forever be a customer.
I've had this phone about a month and really like it. It's fast everything works fine. The only problem I've had is when I first got it when I received a call while I was on a call it would disconnect the Bluetooth. After researching I found out it was the Push To Talk feature being enabled that was causing it. I force stopped the PTT and the phone works fine. If your looking for a decently price good phone I highly recommend the Duroforce PRO.
I bought this phone about a month ago and let me tell you that when I say heavy duty that's exactly what I mean.I am a construction worker who also does demolition. I bought this phone because was told this phone was made just for people with my kind of job.I have dropped it and no problems. No cracks on any kind.I work around a lot of dust.No problem. It's made with a strong case.If you have a job like mine and not don't need a lot of bells and whistles. This is a phone to get. It does it's job.
I just got this phone, but so far I am pleased. One aspect that I dislike is that compared to my previous phone, the buttons are reversed, so instead of hitting the "Back" button, I hit the "open all apps" button, which is annoying but I will get used to it I'm sure. I like that all the ports are covered with flaps, including the headphone jack and charging port, but it seems that the flaps are not attached well (just a thin piece of plastic), and I suspect that they will eventually tear off due to the opening mechanism just being turning the plastic, not a hinge or something like that. There doesn't appear to be a way to reinforce them or reattach them, either. The camera is okay, not great - and a lot of the photos turn out blurry, more so than on other phones I have had. If you want a phone that acts as a camera for sightseeing or work, you probably dont want this phone. However, I do give this phone 4 stars because for the price it seems to be of good quality, the battery life is good, and the system operation is adequate. As someone who requires a durable phone, I'm satisfied.
BT disconnects at times Unable to connect to vehicle's Locks up sometime. The Kyocera E6560 I have now did not work when I bought it in 2014 and it was replaced.
Picked this one up to be able to use it outdoors year round and in nasty weather, first opportunity it did not let me down. Overall it seems a little buggy, hoping those bugs get worked out in a future update. The big surprise to me is how responsive the altimeter is in the barometer app... If your an outdoorsy person looking for a tough phone that fits in with the adventures, the Duraforce Pro is one to consider.
The phone can't handle scrolling at any speed most days. viewing and replying to text messages often takes more than a minute to load the app, and keyboard. I often type out an entire sentence only to find that the phone is still processing the first letter or two. You can forget about playing any games on it. I've gotten used to doing a google search, and then walking away while it processed my request. and this is with either full 4G LTE coverage, or great Wifi. I've had this phone for 8 months, and I've also noticed that battery life has dropped significantly. I have a 30 minute commute where I used to listen to Audible, and have the Waze GPS App running; it would drain the battery to 85% which was acceptable since the screen was on for that entire time. Now I just play Audible, and turn off notifications, and in the same 30 minutes (with screen off) it will be down to 60% remaining. the phone is geared towards being a Fleet phone, like a taxi service might need, but it can't keep up with more than 2 apps running at once.
Finish started wearing off less than a month then it started acting glitchy and as of now it finally crashed. Phone not even paid for yet and now have to buy new phone while paying for this junk. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this load of garbage!
The good, because it doesn't take long. You can wash it off under the faucet, take it swimming or drop it in a puddle. You can drop it and send it skidding across the floor, and nothing happens to it. You could probably drop it off a cliff and have nothing happen to it, which is too bad, because you will really want to see this thing die. Slowly. Painfully. The bad? It turns on features and apps, makes calls, puts itself into airplane mode, puts itself into Greenwhich Mean Time for no particular reason...It just does. It takes a lifetime to load an app if you do want it. The browser is dead slow, even if the service is optimal. It is almost impossible to close anything. The still camera is acceptable, but no better than that. This thing is so slow that using Google Maps for turn by turn doesn't work because it literally can't keep up...If you're WALKING!! My G4 worked that way when I was driving. Seriously, the point in wanting a durable phone is that you want for it to survive. One more reason to look elsewhere for a phone. Don't do this to yourself, really. As a gift for an ex-wife or husband, I can see it. Otherwise, just don't, and say you didn't.
