Well Flavored Pinto Beans

MamaT12 November 26, 2025

I love pinto beans but rarely think to cook them in time for our supper. These beans make it easy for me to have good pinto beans in my recipes. I also will open a can and heat it up and just eat beans and cornbread for an easy supper. I really like the flavor and the fact that these beans are properly cooked. They are soft without being mushy. My husband likes these beans as well, so it makes my like easier.

The Best Canned Beans

Connie August 2, 2025

These are the best canned beans around. All the others I've found now add calcium chloride to make them "firm" which makes them inedible to me and my family. And not safe for people with certain medical conditions. However, these are a good substitute when you want beans but don't have time to make them from scratch. The only thing they add that I don't is a bit of oil, otherwise it's the same thing. The flavor is good and they are the right texture. And again, I do not have to worry about medication or medical conditions contraindications with them for anyone in my family.

Cornbread is great wth them with a little onion.

terri April 12, 2026

These are the real thing. Delicious and seasoned just right. I put garlic salt, onion powder, and just a little chili seasoning. I prefer ham hocks for seasoning. These beans are already spiced. I put more spices in them. If you want Mexican food, this is where it starts.

The La Costena whole beans are the BEST canned pintos on the market. The beans with jalapeños are also excellent. There flavor is so authentic, delicious and balanced. They are great by themselves or in many Mexican style dishes.

Unavailable makes my skin crawl.

Diana May 2, 2025

I get too many unavailables. I ordered 4 cans of beans and got none. (Unavailable) Shopped for pick-up order. Every time I shop at Columbus, NE Walmart this is how they operate.

unless you use it in something like chili where it's hidden. not a good flavor or texture on its own

when I bought these i didn't see that there was a 5.00 delivery fee per can. i thank it's highway robbery and they shouldn't be on the Walmart site stealing from people.
