Bought this La Crosse Atomic Digital Clock for my aging parents. It helps them to know what day it is, what the date is and gives them the time from anywhere in the room. Placed it near their calendar so that they can tell what time it is with just a glance. Saw my dad looking at it on the first day when he was dating a document. Super Success!!! Put it right next to the calendar they use for appointments. Would recommend for anyone who wants or needs to know the day/date for any reason. Can't recommend it enough. Hint - there's a "Set" button on the back. If you push it you can select which item to change and change that item by pushing the buttons with the up/down arrows on the back. Great Value for the money and nice looking. Getting one for myself next...
I had a atomic clock for 14 years and it finally faded. my choice for this model filled the void as I am very into all the information this little item holds.
Put the batteries in, and within minutes it completely set it's self including the date...and I like the the fact it shows the seconds, and temperature
As described on line - easy transaction- Easy setup - fast shipping -
Very pleased. I wanted a quiet clock and that was the driving factor. I wasn't sure about the digital look after having conventional but it fits in beautifully and is just the right size above the sink in a mid-size kitchen. Day/date display, that I thought was useless, is actually quite useful. Keeps great time and there was no problem picking up the atomic signal. East wall in GB, WI.
I really like this clock great price and product . It even came a few day earlier than expected. The only thing I didnt like it doesnt come with instructions and you have to go to their website.
Clock has several added features that are nice, but it could definitely use one feature it doesn't have ... backlighting. If the clock isn't well lit you will have difficulty seeing the numbers. I use it in the kitchen and am used to being able to look in and see the time, even if the lights in the kitchen are off. Not able to do that with this. Still a good clock however.
I purchased this WT8005u clock over two weeks ago. When i put unused batteries in, which i had in a drawer for a few years, the clock wouldn't pick up the radio signas from colorado. I went to La Crosse website & found out i needed brand new batteries. I purchased new energizer 10 yr storage batteries & it picked up the radio signal after a manual search.\ This is the problem. To test the clock, i purposely put the time 5 minutes fast, then put the clock on my lamp table which is about 12ft away from the window. I then pressed manual search in back of the clock, & it did'nt pick up the signal after 7 min of searching. I then waited overnight since it does an automatic search from 1am to 6am every hour on the hour for 7 min each search. It still didn't pick up the signal. Then i put the clock a few feet away from the window & did a manual search and lo and behold, it picked up the signal & corrected the time which was 5 min fast. The problem is, i want to put the clock on my lamp table 12ft from the window, which makes it easier to see at night. It won't pick up the signal at that spot in the room, If it picked up the signal it would show a constant search icon (visible all the time & not flashing). Bottom line, i like the way the clock looks, it keeps very accurate temp reading, & even though i don't have a constant visible search icon, the time is accurate to the second, when i compare it with my comcast tv cable time which also is in synch with the atomic clock in colorado. When DST comes & the clock doesn't change i'll just put it next to the window & do a manual search to adjust to DST. When you take the clock out of the box & put in batteries, the search icon starts flashing. You can't adjust the clock till it stops flashing. You can stop it by pressing the search button in the back. Make sure you put DST on, & the correct time zone which has a button in the back. You have to have fresh brand new batteries. I don't think the batteries will last more then a year, since the clock does 42 min of searching each night. Thats 7 min each hour from 1am to 6am with the icon flashing. If i had the clock next to the window i would have a constant search icon & it probably wouldn't need to search past 1am
Received it broken (I could hear the parts moving around inside the clock) b/c Walmart shipped it in a much bigger box w/o any bubble wrap except one piece of crumpled paper.
The picture of this clock on the ad and even on the package show the numbers against a really bright background which looks illuminated. That's why I got the clock in the first place, I wanted something illuminated so that I could see at night.
