First of all, this isn't for cross-stitching or typical embroidery frame; it's for tambour embroidery, and the frame works well for others. It was worth getting, and while you're not going to get a solid oak frame if that's what you're looking for. But it's still a great choice if you want to learn tambour embroidery. The price, being under $50 is well worth it. Check Etsy and you'll see tambour embroidery frames often go for well over $150, and you take your chances getting one. Plus, since most ship from overseas, adding onto the cost. Slate frames aren't typically accessible item online ( I know, I looked) well if you DIY one. Yes, I very happy with this tambour embroidery frame.

Exceedingly well made, the frame assembled in a heartbeat, and it is incredibly effective. I now officially like doing counted cross stitch embroidery. (I couldn't stand it before!)
