I can't believe all of the bad reviews that this game has been receiving. I rented this game before I heard anything about it, so I was surprised to later hear about all of the negative comments. The controls can be somewhat frustrating at times but not enough to make this a bad game. Besides, the motion control is part of what makes this game so fun and unique. If you've played other motion control games such as Blazing Angels it's not nearly as hard in this game. The graphics are beautiful, and the sound is great. The only thing that would have made this game better is if they would have made it a little longer. If you don't believe me, rent it before buying and you'll see for yourself.
i have a hard time with the controls, it is motion sensor controlled via the wireless controller (if you tilt the controller up the dragon flies up, tilt down- he dives) my hubby loves it - i cant getthe hang of it i get mad and shut it off.
my son loved this game. Great graphics.
I was waiting to buy the PS3 for this game and it is great. The controls take some getting used to, but it is truly a great experience.
This game is nothing like I have ever played before and I have played MANY games! This game almost completely relies on the motion sensor the PS3 controler has. So instead of using the analog stick or control pad to fly your dragon around in the game you use the motion of the controler. It was very very hard to get used to since before the 360, PS3 and Wii there was never anything like a motion sensor controler. This is the only game I have purchased or tried that uses the motion sensor for the main parts of the game. Some of the other PS3 games have small areas in the game where you use the motion sensor but in Lair the whole game requires you to use the motion sensor. If your like me and have a hard time finding games that are new and unique to you then try this game out, its like nothing you will ever have played before!
This game was incredibly overhyped for the past several months and is now getting horrid reviews from game mags across the country. First off, the graphics are nice, very nice.. and the sound is outstanding even supporting 7.1 ss which I'm sure most of us don't have anyway. The gameplay is different and takes some adjusting to get used to but it is the first title to truly take advantage of the sixaxis' capabilities. Give it a shot before walking by just because of some bad reviews. The storyline is not bad either but now to the negative. The controls once again are awkward, but what makes that so bad is that you cannot control the dragon with the analog sticks, only by motion. This does make for some frustrating moments. Outside of that, it is tough sometimes to know exactly what you're supposed to be doing when there are multiple objectives. Overall, I would definitely say that it is worth a try.. there also may eventually be some downloads to correct some of these issues. **By the way, if you use a PS2 controller you can control the dragon with the analogs!!**
Great game and awesome use of the six axis controller. Graphics are great and overall a really good game.
this game is an ok game the controlls are really hard to figure out at first but you get used to them and its to short I would reccomend renting it first
I totally did not enjoy this game a bit, let me explain why. The environments are too large and too many targets at once with vague mission objectives making it hard to know where to go or which enemy needs to be taken out... then a message on the screen saying "mission failed" and you're thinking: what mission? There's no Radar display, only an arrow on the screen showing you the direction of flight but disappearing when you need it most. You can finish this game in 8 hours and the game encourage you to play the same missions again to unlock extras: Pictures of some "Factor 5" employees eating hot dogs!!! What a waste of my time. Do your self a favor don't waste your money on this game, unless you're a 6 year old that likes dragons.
It was sort of odd. Dragons in the game are getting tamed by a certain knight and this game may need a little improvement.
