At the end of the day, it's cream, but not all cream is created equal. This Land O Lakes Heavy Whipping Cream is notably better than standard store brands, and it has become an absolute staple in my kitchen for high-end culinary projects. I primarily use this to make homemade cultured butter. I activate it for 12 hours with two tablespoons of yogurt before churning, and the results are phenomenal. Because this cream uses high-quality ingredients with a great fat content, the butter comes out incredibly rich, smooth, and flavorful. When used for traditional baking, it whips up nicely into stiff, stable peaks without weeping. It has a thick, consistent texture right out of the carton; no weird separation or watery consistency like cheaper alternatives. It has a clean, sweet, dairy flavor that elevates sauces, soups, and desserts. If you are just pouring a splash into morning coffee, a store brand might do. But if you are baking, making sauces, or culturing your own butter, the premium quality of Land O Lakes is well worth it. It’s a fantastic product that consistently delivers excellent results.
Land o lakes is a good medial product for the money these days. Their butter, heavy whipping cream and half-and-half used to be top of the line and I was never upset about paying top price for it. It does appear that the quality of their products has lessened in the recent years
I've tested a lot of heavy creams over the years, and this one is my clear winner. The quality and taste stand out immediately. It's rich, smooth, and adds a silky finish to anything you cook or bake. Other brands often taste like regular milk mixed with condensed milk, but this one has a true heavy‑cream flavor with no off taste. It performs beautifully in sauces, desserts, and whipped cream. The consistency is always reliable, and the freshness lasts longer than most brands I've tried. For me, this is the best overall heavy cream, hands down.
My case manager put me on this to replace the non-dairy creamer that was killing me. The taste is perfection. I use it throughout the day in my coffee and I sometimes use it to cook creamy dishes for my family. We have also, on occasion, used it to make chocolate mousse. It’s a little pricey for me but I’d sell my soul to have this staple in my fridge. It’s def worth it! Great for keto lovers too!
Good quality. Whenever I need to make cream cake or a dessert that uses cream and biscuits, this brand is perfect. Or even whipped cream with strawberries. Delicious!
When some of my recipes (Banana Pudding, for example) call for whole milk, I use Land O Lakes heavy whipping cream instead and it makes a delicious difference.
Makes an excellent whipped topping on any dessert, even plain jello. For some reason this brand just tastes better. I also have 2 Tablespoons in my coffee every morning to start the day right. Elevates an average cup of coffee to a whole other level. No sugar needed. Give it a try and you’ll see what I mean!!
Heavy whipping cream is a staple in my kitchen. I add it to any dish from rice to mac and cheese I even add it to my drinks. And who makes one of my most important ingredients matters! Land O' Lakes is my favorite brand of HWC. Best tasting, creamiiest, smoothest cream (and I've bought and tried most on the market today) I've ever found. My only complaint, there's never enough ! (and there never will be)
I used to LOVE this option as I am lactose intolerant. HOWEVER, they OBVIOUSLY CHANGED THE FORMULA because I had 'intolerant' reactions to it the last two times I bought it!!! Trust me, my G.I. tract knows! After the first time it happened, I ordered it again and the same problem occurred. I don't need a third purchase to confirm the presence of lactose. May as well use rich, full flavored, REAL CREAM if I'm going to have the reaction.
I bought this thinking that it would be as good as Borden Heavy Whipping Cream. I use it for my coffee. I was very disappointed as it was very thin. Then I saw that it is made using skim milk. Never again will I waste my money on it.
