Personally, I wish the case were bigger. Eventually, the purchaser will need to buy an additional spool of thread, and it won't fit inside this case. This makes a good gift for children too, but they need supervision when they use it.

For beginner, who does not sew a lot it has everything you need obviously due to the price the quality is not top notch but if you're not a professional, can't really tell

The Lanney sewing kit is great. I was looking for a small kit to keep on hand for emergency repairs, and this has all of the basic necessities covered. Obviously, numerous small skeins of thread in several colors, small scissors, pack of needles in various sizes, tape measurer, safety pins, straight pins, and more. It will be terrific to have near by.

this is the best selling kit you can get for your buck it comes with like all kinds of stuff even a little pin cushion thimbles I mean it just has a whole array of colors of thread and they're nice bulls they're not those little tiny aggravating ones it's really awesome!

This was a great addition to a tote packed with gifts for my niece who is going to college this fall.

this item is exactly as pictured. the only thing i noticed is that the thread seems cheap and does not easily unravel for you- you have to scratch out the ends. i don't know if that's normal but regardless, the thread is brittle. doesn't matter much- it does the job on everyday projects. would recommend

When I said that I would recommend this item, it's with a caveat. What it includes is almost perfect and the price is good. However, the case is a little too small. Some of the stuff comes in little plastic baggies; there's no designated spot for those items. They need to make the case a little bit larger, you're likely to lose the things that are just loose.

This is a neat little kit with most items you might need for a sewing emergency, including a number of tiny spools of thread and a good variety of needles. As it happened, I had just noticed a small jagged tear in a throw near by, so I decided to fix it while I had the kit in hand. Everything went wel l (nice size needle, scissors, right color thread) until I started pulling the thread off the spool. First several inches worked dfine, then it started criscrossing under, over, caught. I could not get anymore thread. After much frustration, picking and pullin thread out over, under with my needle, I finally got enough to stitch a bit more. However, the thread pieces I could pull offwere so short I did not have enough to tie off securely. Not happy. GUYS, You have a nice little product, spend a little more on thread that will roll off the spool evenly. If I needed my little sewing ki t to fix an item I needed to wear and this was all I had to fix it with, I would not be a happy camper.

The hardware of this set isn't bad, but the shears are extraordinarily cheap and ineffective. The spools of thread are deceptively small, knot easily and of very poor quality. Not recommended.
