Great sharpener for the money. Easy to use ( instructions are easy and well written). The only ( slight one at that) drawback is that the knife can move a little in the clamp, if you are not careful. The angle didn't change,but the knife move backward a little. This happened only with the extra coarse stone. I'd recommend this sharpener to anyone looking for a sub hundred dollar system. Lets face it, when you get into this price range,you can expect some minor quirks.

I'm 64yrs old. Started working in the packing house in Omaha at 15. I know how to sharpen a knife. And I know how to keep it sharp at work. Use this lansky diamond set right. And its works fast and on the money. Way good product for the price. No problem even sharpening my cheap strieght razor.

Love it, addictively fun and effective to sharpen kitchen and pocket knives. I do still like to freehand sharpen, but this is a gamechanger for making quick consistent edges. Get it!

They should probably call it a knife reshaping system instead of sharpening system. If you buy this kit be very careful. Even the finer stones take off a lot of metal. After figuring this out I ordered the "Controlled-Angle Sharpening System" that uses stones rather than diamond dust. Much easier for a newbie to handle. Not knocking my purchase here. I messed up. The kit does exactly what it is supposed to do.

I can sharpen knives in 1/3rd the time compared to my Lansky Stone Sharpening Kit. This kit also has one extra sharpening hone too for fine work on collectible knives.

My husband loves the sharpener and says it's the best he has tried! All our household knifes are truly sharp!

A simple to use tool to keep all of your blades shaving sharp. I was introduced to the Lansky sharpening system in 1989, and have worn out and repurchased several sets since. It sets the angle of your choice to get the optimal cutting edge. I use this on all of my knives, kitchen, hunting, or pocket, even broadheads for archery hunting. The diamond set can even be used to reshape a damaged blade. It's not the fastest way to get a perfectly honed knife, but, by far It's the best I've used.

This is my first Lansky system, and so far I really like it. I've sharpened about 10 knives so far, each coming out razor sharp. I own other sharpening systems they are ok, but to me this one is really good. Definitely like the diamond because they work faster than stone, so it doesn't take that long, compared to stones. I bought an additional Super Sapphire sharpening stone from Lansky to complete this kit. It is 2000grit so it helps put on the edge. But all u need is an old belt or piece of leather to strop with to finish the sharpening, leather works great to make it razor sharp.

For just a little bit more money to make the guide rods stiffer, and the screw to hold them onto the plastic handles a bit more robust, this would be an outstanding product. As it is, I can only rate it as OK to good.
