I got my first pair of these handed down from my sister after about a year of her use, then i had them for another 2 and they were still perfect. But they were pony sized and i got a new horse at the time so i bought another pair, and I've had them for 5 years now and one of the straps just busted off! But 5 years is definitely enough. Perfect flatting and turnout boots, now repurchasing!
These are the least expensive Woof Wear boot, and I have used mine every day for 3.5 years. They are comfortable, easy to use, don't retain water, and provide good protection for everyday riding, turnout, and low-level jumping. Easy to care for, I usually hose them off when mildly dirty and throw them in the wash every few weeks, and they come out looking brand new. They began fraying at the edges a while ago, and the outer fabric is now peeling up, making the boots fray more quickly. However, they have been used hard and handled the abuse this long; I expect buying a more expensive model with bound edges would solve the fraying problem, as that is the only issue I have had with them thus far. My 16.2 hh OTTB wears M in the front and L in the back. I love these boots and will be investing again in a set of Woof Wear, tremendous value based on the price and what you get.
I've been using this brand of brushing boots for over 15 years, they are my go to boot for every horse I've owned in that time frame. They fit a wide range of horses, simple on/off, supper easy to clean, and last several years. They offer the right amount of protection for what I need them for. I use them for schooling, trail riding, hunter paces, dressage, and jumping. Lived in all types of climets and never had a problem with my horses legs getting too hot or funky from them. They stay put even when wet....ive gone through water up to my horses knees when at a hunter pace, they not only stayed in place they did not hold the water and where almost completly dry by the time we crossed the finish line. The price point is also great! As long as they keep making these I will keep buying them they are worth every penny.
This is my second pair of the Woof Wear Sport Brushing boots. After seven or eight years of use, my original pair are starting to show some wear, but are still useable. I use these daily for hacking and training rides that usually consist of periods of walk, trot, and canter, up and down hills, and occasionally over a few small fences. The boots are easy to apply and stay in place throughout; I've never had them slip out of position during a ride. The strike pad is firm, but not rigid. They've done a good job of protecting my mare's front legs. They also wash up nicely.
I own four sets of these boots- four black for schooling and four white for showing. I've got a fairly standard sized OTTB, and I use mediums up front and large behind. These are easily my favorite boots. They're really sturdy and tough, they have never once come undone while riding (intense XC courses and water jumps included) and they're so easy to clean. They keep my boy's legs protected and stable, they fit him perfectly, and look great! I have absolutely no complaints about these boots and prefer them to any other brand I've tried.
These boots are really nice. They have a sturdy strike pad on the inside of the leg with really strong velcro. They work great for lower levels of eventing and fit really well. However, there isn't a strike pad in the front or back of these boots and the neoprene ripped when my horse hit a jump. The hole isn't huge and her leg stayed safe, but I don't feel comfortable using them for Training level or higher so I regrettably have to search for boots with good protection all the way around the leg.
I bought these to protect my 4 yr olds hind legs during turnout. He likes to play so I needed something that was sturdy and wouldn't get too hot or wet in the Florida weather. so far so good.
These boots are about as average as they come, but accomplish what they're supposed to: protect and compress the legs during strenuous riding. Feels a bit expensive for what you get, but Woof is a reputable company and the tendon guards make it worth buying over the Davis or generic neoprene brush boot.
After two weeks of having these boots the neoprene had a tear in it. Over time the tear has gotten worse although the boots are still usable. They do come in a good variety of sizes and provide protection where needed but not the best quality.
I've always had great experience with Woofwear products, but 2 pairs of these just fell apart within a week of starting to use them. The straps just fell off, as the stitching had come apart.
