Works great - three speeds. Lowest speed really moves the air. Very stable - no rocking or shaking. Easy to clean as the front and rear grills can be removed. Doesn't make too much noise when running. Light weight. I am saving on my electric bill by not having to run the air conditioner in my mobile home as much by using the fan. I bought two fans for that purpose but have so far only needed to use one. I live in Southern Arizona where it gets hot, hot, hot.
Went to Walmart - no box fans because they're seasonal and shelves were loaded with Christmas items. Signed on to Walmart.com, ordered, received in two days. It exactly what I wanted at a price that seems too low for a great operating, attractive product. Ya did it again, Walmart.
Living in NY and was going to Florida to visit my parents, they love to keep the heat on and my family and me sweat to death, so I ordered 2 of these fans and had them shipped to my parents house so they would be there when I arrived, these fans are powerful and they keep you very cool, I ordered another for my house in NY. Pros cheap very powerful keeps you cool 3 speeds cons some what loud on highest setting (this did not bother me cause I love background noise) Do not let the cheap price fool you these fans are great and built well and will cool you off.
This is a great box fan for the price Walmart is selling it at. I first tried this fan out at a friends who didn't have the A/C on and it kept the room quite cool. I use it to help circulate the A/C in my studio apt and it works wonderfully. Definitely worth the money!
I am so far very satisfied with this fan. As my house sits in the sun, it quickly warms up, even when cool outside; with this fan I can open a window at each end of the house, and this fan rapidly exchanges the air, immediately cooling it. I tried a smaller fan last year that did not work near as well.
I bought this fan as an exchange for another brand which I got at my local Walmart store. The other brand had a defective motor, so it was returned. I then purchased the Galaxy 20" Box Fan online, at the same price as the first fan. I have owned a Galaxy exactly like this new one for several years, so had no hesitation in buying another one. (It wasn't available in-store, hence the other-brand purchase). I like the Galaxy much better: it has a 3-speed control knob on top where it's easy to reach, and an actual handle that can be securely grasped to move the fan about. The fan motor, in my opinion, is reasonably quiet. I use my fans (four, including this new one) to place in windows for ventilation during the "moderate" spring/fall seasons when A/C or heat is not needed. For some reason the manual that came with this new fan said NOT to use it in a window, yet instructions for my old Galaxy and the two others (different brands), only a few years ago listed use in a window as one of the fan's desirable features. Well, I will continue to use my fans in the windows -- with due caution to make sure they don't get wet from rain, and that they fit securely in the window frame. They may not be as powerful as an old-fashioned attic fan (had one in another home; it was wonderful), but they can pull in a lot of fresh air on a cool country night -- and at less expense than running the A/C.
We purchase these fans for our enclosed animal pens and they work well for that short range purpose. They are a bit louder than other brands, but not deafening. The plastic blades don't move the air as far as more expensive fans do, but you get what you pay for. 'Would think that these would work well for low cost air movers in homes with window units. If used as only cooling source in windows, you can use these fans facing out of the windows to draw hot air out of your home. Working much like an old time attic fan. This works much better at cooling than blowing the hot air in. Just a tip. Overall, this is a good budget priced fan.
I just recently got rid of an old fan that I had for years. This one was a great price and it works well in the window for those days/nights that are not too hot(when I don't want to use the AC).
It is pleasing and neat in appearence. Relatively quiet. Light weight and easy to move. I bought this one to replace one that was about ten years old, that was the cheepest one I could find back then, so I am hoping for a similar run since it is also the same brand!
I purchased two of these fans and both quit working within a few months. Both have power to the motors so I know switches work, but the motors will not turn. I'm guessing the thermal fuse inside the windings is bad, but you can't remove it. Neither fan had dust build up because I always spray them out with canned air. They were working fine last time they were on. I shut them off and they just wouldn't turn back on after that. This time I purchased a Lasko fan. Hopefully it will at least last longer. I've never used Lasko before so time will tell.
